Proud sponsors of Bromley Green FC

Pride of place this weekend has to go to our Under 18s with a superb 4-2 away success – well done all!

Under 18s make it a happy birthday for their skipper!

Very strong game from the boys today with an impressive 4-2 victory at Chartham Sports in the EKYL. Physical game with both teams trying for the win. We started strongly and put them on the back foot early. The breakthrough came with an outrageous freekick effort from Ethan Rogers. Chartham worked had and got themselves in front quite quickly with two goals in rapid succession which left Bromley Green having to fight back. A great run by George Ward that ended with him being taken out in the penalty area. A thumping finish brought us back back to 2-2 just as half time was coming. Second half again we started off brightly getting in behind and George and Conan Wyer causing all sorts of issues on the wings for the opposing team full backs. A nice composed finish from Ronnie put us in the lead again after a quick break and Ronnie running in behind well. Game became a bit scruffy as both teams were looking for the win. One of which Ethan again, from a ridiculous distance, managed to smash it home thanks to a fumble from their goalkeeper. A great win and a positive display from all involved well done. Will Lines (manager)

Editor: well done Will, Jo and boys – terrific result and happy birthday to loyal clubman and captain Conan tomorrow!

EKYL Under 13s – a day with a difference!

To say our preparation was disjointed, and that this was one of those days, is an understatement! At 12.30pm a phone call from the opposition manager “Where are you Dave it’s kick off time?” We were actually in the Waterside car park ready to leave for a 2pm kick off! So we arrive a shambles, kick off about 1.30pm as the pitch was double-booked, our captain missing most of the first half … I won’t continue. Suffice to say no-one asked me about a 12.30pm kick off and the irony is we would all have preferred it.

As if that wasn’t enough, defensive nonsense saw us behind in the first minute and 2-0 down with a penalty after four. By half time, their impressive diminutive winger (Archie – he will go far) had destroyed us with two opportunist goals for a 4-0 scoreline.

In the second half, we struggled with injuries but at least used the opportunity to look at lads in different roles and pulled one back through Harley White. However, the day ended as it started as we conceded an own goal and left Faversham with lots to think about from a 5-1 defeat.

Time to regroup for next Sunday when we entertain Dynamo United at Sandyacres. Kick off will definitely be 2pm. See you all at training on Thursday @5.45pm if you can all make it just that little bit earlier. DH
