[Updated] U7s in sensational form again

First report arrives from BGFC Under 7s

Early news comes from our MILCOL Under 7s who were impressive in their away League match on Saturday morning, with Jack Pereira enthusing “They are really playing some lovely football. To be honest, they were all mustard today as you can imagine”. Not allowed to publish the score but on target for the Green were Bertie 5, Lenny 3, Buddy 4, Barney 2, Preston 4. Player of the Match went to Lenny for his goals and numerous assists. Well done everyone!

Not such good fortune for the U12 McDonalds who took a tonking despite having Player of the Match James Truelove in top form between the sticks at Appledore. Green manager Chris Barker commented “They are a talented side full of county players and I have no idea why they are in Division Two – it does not make sense”. David Truelove notched a consolation goal for the Green who next week entertain Headcorn Harriers at Sandyacres. Training at Repton Tuesday 6pm everyone please when we will present the McDonalds voucher.

Birthday greetings on Saturday to Vice President Mark Day!

24/11/2011 Millwall fanatic Mark Day who made 504 senior appearances for the Green and notched 58 goals

As far as I know, only three teams are in action on Saturday, all away from home. They are U7s, U8s DVS and U12s McDonalds. Training for the U13s McDonalds at Waterside 10am. Have a great weekend everyone and do send in photos and reports please. DH

Defying the odds

Well, whichever way one looks at things, this has been a dreadful year for so many reasons. However, our youngsters continue to make us proud and even the foul weather last night could not dampen the spirits of these children at Repton. Thanks to Gabriel Mika and Chris Barker for their help. Pictures from managers or parents, celebrating the commitment of our Juniors, are always welcome. Please send to davehomewood@icloud.com
