The weekend … rather quiet again! But only a week to wait now … BGFC Tournaments set to go ahead in July

In the hope that things have settled down, and covid is no longer a threat, the BGFC Juniors 6-a-side Tournament this year is scheduled for 24/25 July 2021; with the usual age groups U7 through to U16. Note very young age groups have to abide by the FA stipulation of 5-a-side.

Also in the pipeline, if I get help, are competitive tournament days for U13, U14, U15, U16, U18 and Seniors at 11-a-side. We have received enquiries from other clubs and they should be great days out. Provisional dates for the 11-a-side groups are 10/11 July. I have tried to avoid clashes with other events.

The plan is to form a Tournament Committee as in previous years – so do come forward please if you are interested in getting involved. As soon as it is practicable, we will get together and formulate a plan. In the meantime, invites will be prepared for distribution during April.

Another week and we are back in action with training commencing at Waterside on Monday 29 March 2021. We are also doing our best to stage a few friendlies while official league/cup matches continue at Sandyacres. Please see the 2021 Events & Fixtures page which is updated immediately we have new info.

The world is not normal at present, as we all know! However, estimated date for opening for business is Saturday 8 May 2021 … but remember we have to conform to prevailing FA and Government restrictions.

Happy birthday on Sunday to Pawel Baron!

Happy birthday on Saturday to former players Lee Gilham, Carl Bampton and Oliver Bell!

Gilly made 399 senior appearances and scored on 28 occasions

Just the EKYL fixtures awaited now – please refer to the 2021 Events & Fixtures page for all training and fixture arrangements
