Tuesday updates: 2-2 draw at Wingham tonight

Wingham 2-2 Bromley Green

Goals from Alfie Glendinning and Matthew Wedge earnt a creditable draw on Tuesday night in an entertaining friendly. We went 1-0 down, 2-1 down but perhaps, in the end, a draw was a fair result. Onto more serious action now with the trip down the A28 to face Tenterden A on Saturday.

The seniors traveled to an evening kick off at high flying Wingham from the Canterbury Premier League. We went behind in the first half, but pulled it back to 1-1 through Alfie. 2nd half and we went behind again, but minutes later it was 2-2 through Matt Wedge. We consistently put the hosts under pressure with 20 minutes left we had corner after corner but could just not get that deserved winner. Good performance all round, roll on the weekend Sat league and Sundays is a cup match.
Regards Timmy

Birthday greetings on Tuesday to David Stafford and former quality first team defender Paul Allan!

U5s Academy TONIGHT AT 4PM – come along (bring your parents!)

Inter-club friendly blows away the rustiness – literally!

Damo Hatcher reports from a chilly Waterside

Well done to all that played in today’s friendly back at the Waterside. It was a very entertaining game between U13 McDonald’s and U13 Utilitas. We were lucky enough to witness some very nice football resulting in a 8 goal blinder. With 7 goals coming from the McDonald’s side. And 1 for Utilitas. Goals aside, it was nice to see the players out playing football again.

Scorers were Preston for the Utilitas side and Taylor (3), William (2), Charlie W and Ben for the McDonalds. Thanks to Neil Holmes for officiating and to those who braved the cold to support.

Editor’s footnote – well done to all for a sporting match. Great to see Austyn back in a Bromley Green shirt, albeit on the pitch where he had a solid game. Welcome to Qrez and Oscar who had their first outings. So everyone is clear, training for all groups is as per normal during the week. The Utilitas squad have another inter-club friendly with Grant’s U14 Skoda Caffyns on Thursday (5.30pm). Those not involved in that match please note training for U13s EKYL goes ahead as normal on Thursday at 6pm. To reiterate, Chris, Timmy, Grant, Damo, Jamie and DH are all training on the usual days at the normal times. If in doubt, please refer to the 2021 Events & Fixtures page.

Austyn – welcome back!
