U14’s away to Park Farm Rangers

The U14’s were drawn away to Park Farm Rangers in the Cup.  On a dank windy day the Greens started with the wind and held their own in the first half limiting the opposition to 2 clear chances and a few half chances, whilst creating several half chances themselves.

One of the chances for the opposition was a ball width and a half from going over the line, but expertly pounced on by Jamie in the goal.

The second half start brightly for the opposition and five minutes in saw them score with a scramble effort.

It took the home team another ten minutes or so but then two quick goals from defensive mistakes saw the home team grab the game, but the Greens showed great courage and effort to try and get a goal back with several chance that on another day may have gone in.  The opposition player of the match, Chelsea, scare a few of their players with her determination and effort with the home team often coming off second best.  Jamie also pulled off some great saves during the second half that stopped it from becoming a heavier defeat.

The final five minutes saw the home team grab a 4th goal with a superb effort from the edge of the box that hit the underside of the bar before going in.

The team played really well and only having a bare 11 players, and the opposition having a full squad of 16 players they all came off having given their all for each other.  I could not have asked or want any more form them all.  Considering the meeting against this side at the start of the season resulted in an 8-0 defeat, shows how they are improving and coming together as a team!
