Saturday updates … more photos to follow as U15s win penalty shoot-out

Cup joy for Green U15s

Job well done … into the next round BGFC U15s

No doubting the performance of the day, with Sid and the U15 Skoda Caffyns squad progressing in the Cup with a nail-biting penalty shoot-out success against hot favourites Otford United at Sandyacres. Report below from Sid.

Very hard game today, the boys dug deep, closing the opposite side down very quickly not giving them chance to play. Went 1-0 up with 5 minutes to go via Joe Clark but then conceded with the last kick of the game – taking it to penalties. The boys kept their cool slotting home their spot kicks and winning the shoot out 4-2. It was a pleasure to to be there.

Our U16s, without any match action for ages, came a real cropper away to another much fancied side, Hastings. Plenty to do for Matt Lewis on his return in goal after a lengthy absence.

South Ashford are too strong for the division and romped in 14-1 against the Utilitas U13s at Waterside. Details to follow.

Under 7s rampant again

Grasshoppers were the latest to feel the force of the MILCOL Under 7s. Not allowed to give the score but on target were Harry S 2, Harry B 3, Lenny 3, Bertie 3, Buddy 1, Preston 2. Gaining the accolade of Player of the Match was Harry B.

Our U12 McDonalds squandered chances as they dominated the latter stages and had to settle for a point from a 2-2 draw at home to Headcorn. Report from Chris Barker to follow.

Damion was disappointed at the lack of players for the U10s trip to Biddenden but was full of praise for those that did turn up. Very unlucky to lose by a single goal – so well done to the boys and girls..

Review away to Biddenden from Aaron Kelly
Without a doubt the team’s best performance so far! And with only 6 players!
From a heavy defeat last week, the guys meant business at the start of this game and were determined to keep a clean sheet. Was this going to be the end of the team’s losing streak? Well … both halves were equal, the defence was solid and our goal keeper was having none of it!
However, it was our midfield that had quite the battle today as the opposition were pushing forward and putting pressure on us for the majority of the game which had us running around & even changing one of our defenders to a defensive midfielder! this was the only way to create any attacking opportunities.
The tactic for us worked out well as we finally started getting in the oppositions half more than we normally would.
Sadly, while we played excellent today and the best so far, it was a late corner and a sneaky goal from the opposition which led us to our defeat.

Just look at those Biddenden clouds!

Park Farm U10s v Bromley Green Hurricanes U10s by David Bridge

Squad : Tyler, Thomas, Ethan, Owen, Charlie, Ibrahim, Alfie, Sean, Ibrahim, George and Nathaniel

An early start against our local rivals started off how we finished last week, on the front foot.  The team started confidently, passing the ball about resulting in some good attacking play.  Park Farm remained dangerous on the break but the defence looked at comfortable stopping and starting attacks.  Thomas and Owen were both dangerous on the wings, getting down the sidelines with ease  whilst raining in crosses and shots. Sean broke the deadlock with sun in his eyes with neat control and powerful finish in to the top of the net from the six yard line. After that the team sat back a little after going ahead, allowing Park Farm to push on and and get back into the game resulting in the equaliser from distance.

Second half started though with Greens getting back on top. This time down the slope with the sun behind us we again got back on top. Charlie his usual composed self in middle of park controlling game, whilst Alfie and Ibrahim trickery on the wings kept Park Farm pegged back most second half. The defence was immense all game with Nate, Louis and Tyler solid in defence but all having confidence to drive the ball out of defence or spray passes about. The game turned with through ball to Sean who buried the chance bottom corner giving keeper no chance. The game wore on and thank 2 outstanding saves from Ethan to prevent late equaliser. George nearly put the game to bed displaying usual poachers instincts before ball cleared off the line. However, final whistle was met with cheers from parents and players alike, made even more sweeter in front teams new sponsor Brad Avery from Avery Building and Renovation Ltd.

PoTM so difficult today again with every player giving their all to a great team performance. However, for his powerful display in defence and having the confidence to spray passes around like Jan Molby, the POTM went to Tyler. Great game and a good re-start to league fixtures.

Well Done Tyler – PoM

The U9s Global started slowly but came back to record a terrific result at Park Farm. Report here from Alex Hebbes

Park Farm v BG Global
Green came into the game off a massive win and unbeaten season hoping to continue the good form. Without really creating anything green dominated possession for majority of first half when park farm against run of play scored with a fast counter attack which caught global out. On the stroke of half time Joey managed to win a penalty with some good wing play for Daniel V to bury into bottom corner. 2nd half with increased confidence green struck quickly through Daniel V again with a well taken finish in off the post, not to be outdone, George smashes the green further ahead, man of match Ronnie Sissons making countless tackles and thwarting Park Farms attempt to counter showing great spirit. Tyler G with a quick kick out found Daniel V who flicks on for Tyler Q to smash a shot over the park farm keeper who gets a finger on and just over the line to push us further ahead. Daniel completes his hat trick after stealing the ball off park farm beating the keeper and finish low into the bottom corner.
Despite conceding first green showed desire and correct attitude to stick to the footballing style that has made them unbeaten this season, showing great patience as a team to drag out an impressive result after going behind. Keep up the good work onto Wye next Saturday with another win under our belts. Man of Match Ronnie Sissons.

Congratulations Ronnie – pictured with Alex and Marc

Hey Dave match report from Tony Nelson

We played away to Rhino Whites, and what a great effort and determination shown by all.

They are looking more and more like a team.

At times end to end but we edged it and had some great football on display.

Goals scored by Dexter and Kai

Well done Dream Team keep this attitude up.
