Bromley Green 4-1 Chartham

A superb team performance showed off by a great scoreline. From the moment we kicked off our intensity was high and the chances started with us getting in behind often early on. We took this fast start and took the lead early on with a brave goal by ilja to put us ahead within 10 minutes. We continued to be on top for much of the first half with us just missing the final ball. A free kick from about 35 yards out allowed for Ethan to double our lead with a cracking pile driver. We finish the first half 2 goals up.

Second half comes and Chartham start strongly causing us problems early on. A couple of great saves from Kai was unfortunately let down when a free header at a corner allowed for Chartham to claw one back. As the half wore on, and tempers fly, Chartham get a player sent off and another sin binned in the same incident. Leaving them down to 9 men, which opened up the space and allowed for Nelson to score a third which gave us the breathing room that we needed. Back on comes the sin binned player who now gives away a penalty for an off the ball challenge to Ilja allowing Dan to round off an impressive display with a 4th and the game won. Tempers fly again with another sending off after a late challenge on Dan from the same player. A great game where the boys played with grit and intensity but also a cool head and controlled the game with only a 10 minute period of looking shaky. Player of the match was Ilja who run their back four rugged all game and led the line great today. On to the next one! Thanks Will

Winning run comes to an end for the U13s Pirtek squad

Not a performance to remember on a sloping pitch at the Rabbit Hole in Barham with the final scoreline of 4-1 reflecting arguably our poorest display of this disjointed campaign. Early exchanges saw us compete and go close through MJ but glaring gaps and a lack of marking saw us 4-0 behind at the turn round. Our hosts had two tall centre backs that dominated – so often the case in this age group where physicality clearly stood out as the main difference between the two sides. If any consolation is needed, we took the second period with our single goal from Danny-Lee Watts. The afternoon began with one player not showing at all – not good enough sorry – and the day ended in disappointment. Onto training Thursday … can we all be on time at 6pm please? Next week we are at home to Faversham Strike Force Lightning at Sandyacres and full details will be given at training and emailed out as usual. DH
