Thank You for Help

Message from Dave

Massive thank you to Wayne, Ryan, Alex, Shane, Brian E and Karen for their help in lugging items into the new building.

Can I ask teams playing at Waterside this weekend to watch their language and general noise please – as you can imagine, I have received a complaint!

Those waiting ages for bags and garments – thank you for your patience … the wheels are starting to turn again as hopefully the pandemic withers away and stocks are high

Good luck to all our teams this weekend and please send photos, reports etc to Steve at bgfcweb@btinternet.com

Incoming match results and reports

Sorry for the latest of the results, but seems someone forgot to plug it in this morning!!

U12 DVS

The U12’s were in League Cup final action today.

U12 DVS Cup final Team

The game was played at New Romney in awfully wet and windy conditions against Park Farmer Rangers.  In a great game that saw the team perform at their best, with the final score being a 4-2 loss.

This team has been playing a year up and shows how well they have progressed and although it was not the hoped for result it is a valuable experience for the team on their footballing journey.

U9 Dream Team

We played at home against Tenterden Tigers.

Both teams settled early, and the game was flowing from the start.

Not loads of chances in the first half as both teams held there shape, but BG Dream Team won a penalty, but we didn’t take that chance half way through the first half.

Considering the weather the kids stuck at it and a good battling game and plenty of positives.

Goal scorer x1 Kai

U9 Global

BG Global vs Wye Green go into the last 5 games with our unbeaten streak tested against tricky opponents in Wye.

Green controlled the game much better than last time against Wye and took a well-deserved lead through Brad H with lots of corners and set pieces Green looked likely to score again with Green leading half time, after a few troublesome moments from Wye with some near misses combined with good defending captain Dan V picked the ball up edge of Wye area and finished past the keeper with the ball fizzing off the wet surface.

Some good work from George saw Tyler’s flick find Dan V edge of the area only to see his well-controlled volley go straight at keeper.

Wye pulled a goal back with minutes remaining after a high bounce took Kuba by surprise handling in the area, Tyler G in goal got a hand to it but couldn’t keep the now soaking ball out the net.

Green almost got another with Brad racing clear of the defenders and only a last minute slide tackle and being blocked out by opposition stopped the extension of the lead.

Really good game played in very wet conditions. Man of match Edwin, Respect man of match Brad

U13 Utilitas

Today we faced top of the league A Mersham, again for 2 weeks in a roll we were able to start with a full team, we started really well and after 3 minutes MJ headed towards goal only to see it hit the bar.

After being in control for 20 minutes we switched off and conceded but took control of the game again and from a 30 yard free kick Charlie Bryant picked out the top right hand corner 1-1.

2nd half and we held them in their own half until the boys tired again and we suffered 3 injuries to defenders, and late in the game under testing conditions we conceded 4 goals.

Well done to all the team we showed some great football, with a full squad the result would have been a lot different, we now have some easier competition coming up and with the last 2 weeks performances we will hopefully change the results round.

Player of the match was Charlie Bryant

Once again we’ll done to all

U14 Skoda Caffyns

Awaiting match report, but result was a 3-0 loss to Mersham

Some great results and performances this weekend, especially considering the weather conditions today for all the game.

Bromley Green Hurricanes U10s v Pilgrims

Squad: Ethan, Tyler, Nathaniel, Charlie, Sean, Owen, Alfie, Thomas, Louis, George, Ibrahim and Daniel

Another good game for the team against Pilgrims in really windy conditions . The team continued the good form they shown since the restart playing some really good football despite the conditions. A neat move down the right ended with a good save by Pilgrims keeper before Alfie continued his good goal scoring form by nearly finishing the rebound.

After half time we were against the wind but we continued to have majority possession and attack. However, Pilgrim always dangerous on attack defence was resolute and a last ditch sliding tackle by Tyler was the moment of the match.

Another great team display but for his dominant defensive display and calmness in possession POTM went to Tyler. Congratulations Tyler and the team as we continue to enjoy our return to football.

More information will be posted when they come through.
