Happy birthday to Klaidi Krasniqi, Ruben Cook-Santana and Winston Michael.
Saturday saw the Saturday Senior side play Biddenden Reserves. The game was going in the favour of the Greens leading 5-2 with Mickey Mabb, Ryan Carter, Alfie Glenddining, Nickolas Szomjas and Byron getting a goal apiece.
Unfortunately the weather stepped in with the Referee stopping the game at 70 minutes played due to the thunder and lightening around at the time. Obviously with the sad lost of Jordan Banks to a lightening strike fresh in the memory, the Ref did the correct thing for the protection of all the players.
Snowdown 2-4 Bromley green
A tight game that we eventually got over the line. We started the game brightly with both our strikers testing the defense getting behind early on. With Ilja opening the score early on with great finish. Snowdown however were causing our defense a few issues with Kai coming out on top with a couple of excellent saves.
A Nelson corner caused their defense to panic and with the ball bouncing around in the area Ronnie managed to smash it in giving us a two goal lead. Snowdown were quick to respond with two back to back goals before half time which left us a little bit flat coming in at the break.
As the second half went on the boys confidence started to come back with some great passing which led to a terrific cross field ball from Conan to find an open Nelson who took a great touch with his left and slotted it in with his right, great finish. As the confidence grew back the we were getting on top more and more. With a few chances being missed until Ilja again pops up with another cool finish and the game put to bed.
A game we feel we could have done a lot better in performance wise, but these are the games that show true resilience to win when it’s not going your way to dig deep and get the job done well done boys.
