As an unusually warm, sunny bank holiday ends and everyone returns back to work it is great to have seen football back at Waterside.
Great to see everyone enjoying the new Clubhouse as all the teams that were playing home games could actually play at home!!!
Sunday Saw the U18’s at home to Herne Bay Harriers and unfortunately lost by the odd goal and the Sunday Seniors were in Sheber Cup final action at the Homelands. In a tight game, they went 2-0 down just before half time. half way through the second half saw the Greens grab a goal back from the penalty spot.
The Greens showed plenty of endeavor but were unable to grab the equalizer and the game ended 2-1 to Park Farm Rangers.
Bank Holiday Monday saw a great turn out for the Andy Hone Memorial Game between Sid’s ex-Dynamo Vets against Trotty’s Elite flooring Vets. The game was played in good spirits with a good crowd enjoying the football and the sunshine.
Sid who organized the game in memory of his brother made the following statement about the day:
Sid, Steph and the Hone Family would like to thank everybody who has supported the Andy Hone Memorial Matich 2021 and it was a great day. Many thanks to Androw Trott for organizing the opposition team and to all the players who took part.
For all those players coming to the Club over the next three days with the Charlton Athletic Community Trust football days, enjoy yourselves.
Please check whether you youth sides are training this week due to it being half term I know a number of coaches are not training this week.
If you are training at all this week, due to the weather please ensure you use sun cream and bring plenty of water to training to stay hydrated!!!
