Match reports received so far for the weekend:
Another super Weekend! Success in new leagues and for new teams.
The U13s GWS had their first league game away to Pilgrims.
After a tight first half we saw ourselves 1-1 in an even fought contest.
Second half we came out fighting with a wonder goal from Liam O’Leary and David Truelove strike. We came out eventually winners 3-2.
MoM went to David for his overall performance. On to next week.
Today saw BG U15s take on Deal at Waterside in their first league game of the season in our new league of Faversham and District. Having never played any of the teams in this league before it was a step into the unknown.
The game kicked off and we scored in the second minute. BG continued with great pressure on the opposition with a high press. We had a couple of chances with 2 goals disallowed for off side. We had to wait until the 22nd minute to score again.
The passing was quick and accurate in the defence and midfield with 1 or 2 touch movement. The link up play with the wingers and striker was very good and just before half time we were 5 nil up. We then conceded from a well worked passing move from the opposition on the stroke if half time.
Half time BG 5 – 1 Deal
BG started slowly in the second half and the opposition punished us and scored their second inside 5 minutes. This got the team going again and we largely controlled the game – scoring 2 more midway through the half. With 15 minutes to go we hit top gear scoring 3 in 5 minutes.
The opposition kept battling away to the very end not letting their heads drop, which is a credit to their players and coaching staff.
Final score BG Skoda U15s 10 – 2 Deal.
Logan 4, Ryan 2, Stevie, Jacob, Bobbie, Xander with a left foot volley (he tells me he can’t use his left?)
The whole team gave 100 % and played the best football i have seen from them. Player of the match was Logan with his work rate, desire and the 4 goals.
I am a very proud manager today. Well done everyone.
U16s report v pilgrims
Great performance today first game back didn’t deserve to go 2-0 down in first half but 2nd half dominated bringing back to 2-2 should of come out winners but happy with result
Match report from Alex Hebbes for Sat Res
Green started the morning missing seven players and losing Harvey Luxford to a broken clavicle before the game. We wish Harvey all the best in his recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch when ready. Green missing 3 goalies including new signing Ryan Hodges who broke down en route to the game meant a huge reshuffle to the side with centre forward Alfie Turner taking 1 for the team.
Green started well for first 5 mins but sadly direct balls over the top and some inexperience in the back line meant a continual stream of chances falling to Woodchurch. Alfie did his best but we ended the half 5-0 down with a few half chances created.
Second half with keeper Ryan finally arriving meant Green had nothing to lose and for long spells were the much better team. Alfie, after starting in goal, caused havoc against the back line pulled a goal back for Green but by this point our fitness and numbers were starting to tell. Ryan conceded his first and Green’s 6th goal with a well worked play that saw a whipped cross fumbled and Woodchurch found the net. Green hit the bar twice from free kicks and shots and Alfie almost got his 2nd with a lob that beat the keeper but bounced over the bar. Nick Szomjas showed some good skill to turn the Church full back inside out and rattled the post. Owain almost scored with a low drive after some nice play but a defenders touch took the sting out of it. Woodchurch netted the final goal with a cut back which was given as offside only for referee to go with the goal. Green made big strides in the second half but are still looking for their first win of the league season.

Today saw the U12’s Emeralds girls team play their very first league match at home against Margate Youth. The whole team should all should feel very proud of themselves and every player gave their all but unfortunately today did not end in a win for us. But we will go on to next weeks game taking what we have learnt from today’s match and build on our strengths and work on our weaknesses.
The first half started slightly hesitantly but the girls soon found their confidence and we made some great passes and our goalkeeper made some great saves but unfortunately Margate just had the edge over us and we ended the first half 4-0 down.
We went out into the second half stronger and more determined and after some great runs and attempts at goal, Izzy scored a fantastic goal.
The team definitely gave a better performance in the second half but all credit to Margate who played a great game and eventually won 7-1.
I am very proud of the team today and look forward to continuing with our very first season and building on the experience of each match.
