Some match reports for the weekends games:
On to a happier Sunday afternoon at Waterside with our U14s and U12s both recording emphatic victories in the East Kent Youth League (6-0 and 4-0 against Barham and Lyminge respectively).
A hat trick for Charlie Bryant, two for Derren Straker and a beauty from Danny-Lee accounted for the U14s six goals but this was a true squad display with keepers Harvey and James ensuring a clean sheet. Preston Webb led by example from the back with Harrison Petken and Connor Heslop also impressive in defence while Josh Bailey with his determination in midfield and Ben Hatcher threatening down the right were strong contenders for Player of the Match. The accolade went to Rieyaan Naunko for his display at full back – putting the team first as no-one seems to want to play there!
We enjoy competing in this league for the variety of opposition and a strong test awaits next Sunday in the Cup away to Hawkinge (meet club midday as kick off is earlier).
Match report from Martyn Dalby Bromley Green v Charing.
With the start of the season not going are way with losses we finally had a full team and the return of the team captain after serving his ban from last season.
We played with a formation of 4-4-1-1 to start the game with and us starting off strong. We played football from the back and got the ball out to the wingers and they knew they had the pace on Charing’s defence and we started to get in behind.
Tyler who had a great game opened the score with a nice little finish. We made a few more chances but didn’t take advantage of them. Finally the ball landed to Tyler again with another tidy finish to put us 2-0 up.
Jarvis had a great game today he went through on goal about 7 times today and unselfishly passed it most times and this is how we got the 3rd goal, with Jarvis 1 on 1 with the goal keeper looked up and saw Tyler for his hat trick.
The 4th goal came from a snap shot from Tyler what took a lovely deflection into the corner giving him 4 goals in the first half.
Mini and Ross were bossing the midfield and Charing didn’t win a lot in there. Keeper made a few great saves stopping mini from getting on the score sheet.
We started the 2nd half slow and Charing started to put are defence under pressure but the back 3 dealt with it every time and useless we made an error Charing didn’t look like scoring.
Kieran came on in the second half and grabbed himself 2 goals he had a solid half of football. Michael scored a great header but the linesman saw something different to us and put his flag up for offside.
Nathan scored the 7th goal from about 20ish yards keeper had no chance great strike.
Lorenzo and Luke played great down the left side they have so much pace and they had the beating of Charing all game and before the game finished we got the ball out to Lorenzo down the left and he crossed the ball in my opinion but he might say otherwise and keeper gambled and went down but the ball lifted over him and went in at the back post.
The whole team played well Liam made a good save and the defence were solid. Aaron ran the back line brilliantly. Midfield were solid winning most battles forward players kept battling but the man of the match was Tyler.
