Well done Samara!

Reserves go down 4-1 – report from Alex Hebbes

Well done Ciaran – scorer and Player of the Match against neighbours South Willesborough Rangers

Green Reserves went down to a 4-1 loss after being 1-0 up at half time from a halfway line free kick. Green had a few chances to score more. Ryan Hodges gave away a penalty and saved the spot kick in the opening 10 mins.
Unfortunately we conceded the equaliser straight from kick off at half time and never really got going. 3-1 down and Guy Farmer narrowly missed with the net at his mercy after a good ball from Prince only to see Sth Willesborough  score from a corner with no-one picking up the player for a free header.

U14s EKYL match called off by opponents Ramsgate last night

Just two games in the whole of the club today as the Sunday firsts go to Hopes Grove to meet Brews Reserves (10.30am) and the DVS Under 12s entertain Margate (2pm). Training is on for the Valiants, new U15s and the Emeralds. Times are on the 2022 Events & Fixtures page.

Best of three victory for the U13 GWS

Under pressure for long periods, the Under 12 GWS team returned from Biddenden with creditable 2-1 win. Goals in the first period from Liam O’Leary and Daeyaan Naunko gave us a two-goal advantage at the interval but midway through the second half a very dubious penalty made for a nail biting finish. Player of the match for the Green was keeper James Truelove who kept the Den at bay despite their pressure.

Outstanding display in goal for the U13 GWS at Biddenden on Saturday – James Truelove is our Player of the Match

From Martyn Smith away to Hastings

Martyn and the Under 12s

Away to Hastings we knew it would be hard unbeaten all season and they play great football, wake up with the news Will is not well uh oh no gk in steps Hastings player of the match David Truelove, windy down in Rye we didn’t get started at all so Hastings had all the ball we dug in kept battling against the wind as well, a short corner for Hastings we switched off side pass bang top corner past unsighted David. Half time sat down had a big chat 😉  2nd half had the wind with us got the passing going started to relax goal kick from David out to James a fine slotted pass to Lenny who calmly slotted bottom left in and we’re bk in it. Now we are buzzing we keep knocking the door free kick to us just on the half way line up steps our captain Joe sees the keeper off his line boom 2-1 last ten mins sees Jake’s shot take a deflection out for a corner Tyler didn’t quite get hold of it but it’s gone near post a lil hash of clearing it had the ball hit the post the a defender then keeper then in, il take any goal up the Green absolutely over the moon squad David, Joe, Harrison, Charlotte, Yas, Lenny, Jake ,Tyler, James, Brad, Alfie, Ollie, pom David. Enjoy ur weekend cos I will.
