Youngsters a ‘Major’ boost for seniors

Report from U11s Avery building manager David Bridge

Despite the organisation of the tournament, and a few no shows, it was a good day out in Larkfield. Team started slowly with an unlucky draw and an even more unlucky loss. However, the team bounced back with 2 wins to take us to the semi-final. Goals from Harli, Sean and Charlie took us through the group stage.

Semi-final was tough against probably the best team in the tournament Hollands and Blair. Tried hard but ultimately lost to the better team. Was a good performance to get to the semi- final – well done boys.

Final score at Waterside 4-2 to the Blues

  • Chris Burden delighted with U11s who win their first game
  • Cracking inter-club seniors warm-up match at Waterside … Sid’s group just edging it at half-time with Tom Scamp and keeper George Mason catching the eye
  • Another great tournament display by the MILCOL U8s
  • Early results for David Bridge and the Avery Builders are won 2 and drawn 1 at Larkfield
  • Thanks to Patrick Reid for taking the U10s at Wye (photos below)

Happy birthday today to one of the classiest wingers I ever had the privilege of playing alongside over 50 years ago – Alan Bishop. Alan played for Kent Plant Hire, MJ Allen and Bromley Green, in a squad that included our Honorary President Chris Dorsett, before moving to Chatham.
