Report by Keith Montgomery
A game where the weather had a part to play, I feel that we would have done better, in better conditions. Nevertheless, this was another improvement. We lost a little focus from time to time but the structure was a lot better. Well done boys.
The first half we battled well, only 0-2 down with 10 mins to go, unfortunately lost focus for a few minutes and went in 0-5. We also had our chances as we broke away on occasions.
The second half was much the same battled well for most of the half but again little lapses in concentration is where we concede goals. Again also had our chances as we broke away on many occations.
I will take full blame for the first goal as I lost concentration when my phone went off. It was Sir Alex Ferguson, I told him I would call him back as I was busy and would think about his offer.
Players Report:
GK: Daniel Quintal: Played well in the conditions. Made some good saves, nearly saved a penalty too.
RB: Charlie Prior: Another solid game listening to instructions and hard working throughout the game. Always positive and encouraging others never dropped his head. Charlie well done.
LB: James Oram:  Played well again more focused on his positioning when he never had the ball. Well done
CB: Bradley Crust: Good positive performance, Strong in tackles, didn’t give up. Well done Bradley keep this up.
CB: Ryan Turner: Good performance. Got injured in the first half but went back on to help his team mates well done Ryan keep this up.
RM: Tommy Lockett: Good strong performance, strong in tackles always looking to be in the right place at the right time. Good tracking back to help his team mates.
LM: Aaron Maher: Hard working throughout the game, listened to instructions. Worked hard tracking back and being in the correct position to help the defence out when under pressure, but always looking for the opportunity to break away.
CM: Harry Middleton: Good game worked hard well done Harry.
CM: Billy Gramson: Billy was the captain for today’s game. Billy encouraged others while still concentrating on his responsibilities as captain. Good strong performance throughout the game working hard to win the ball back Man of Match.
CF: Ki Montgomery: Started strong but had to come off early with injury.
CF: Charlie Bourne: Good game working hard, tracking back to win the ball back. Always looking to break away. Good strong performance
Sub: Daniel Housden Came on early to replace Ki Montgomery. Good performance. Got injured in the first half but went back on to help his team mates well done Daniel keep this up.
The supporters: Were great again in these cold conditions, thanks for your support; the team appreciates you being there. However there was no Tea and cake again, I will waste away; I am only 9 stone and dropping with all this training.

This was a game that I am extremely proud to have been the manager. The score was irrelevant today.
The main goal was for the team to encourage each other, work as a team and keep a better shape and structure. Well done to the boys that played.
GK: Daniel Quintal: What a game this young man had outstanding save after save some reaction and double saves. (I taught him well). Well done Dan.
RB: Charlie Prior: Another solid game listening to instructions and hard working throughout the game. Always positive and encouraging others, never dropped his head. Good strong tackles, keep it up Charlie well done.
LB: James Oram: Man of the Match. This was because he made some last ditch challenges throughout the game. Chasing the ball down, even when it look like he had no chance of getting there he did. Well done James.
CB: Bradley Crust: Good positive performance, Strong in tackles, didn’t give up. Well done Bradley keep this up.
CB: Daniel Housden Again Solid performance. Worked hard throughout the game. Well done Daniel keep this up.
RM: Tommy Locket: Good strong performance, strong in tackles always looking to be in the right place at the right time. Good tracking back to help his team mates.
LM: Aaron Maher: Hard working throughout the game, listened to instructions. Worked hard tracking back, but always looking for the opportunity to break away.
CM: Harry Middleton:  Good strong performance. Good attitude and worked hard. Encouraged others throughout the game.
CM: Billy Gramson: Billy was the captain for today’s game. Billy encouraged others while still concentrating on his responsibilities as captain. Good strong performance throughout the game.
CF: Ki Montgomery: Strong throughout the game. Even though up front on his own, tracked back to help the midfield and defence. Good strong tackling.
The supporters what can I say thanks for coming you were great. However a flask of tea and a slice of cake would be nice, so you could have done better.

Don’t worry about the odd defeat boys, you will come good in the end and I will get you all a McDonalds when you win your first league game! You have a great manager in Tony and in the end you will have the last laugh over those who think the grass is greener elsewhere. Keep those heads up and well done to Billy G who scored today and Harry M who won the Player of the Match award. It takes time to build a top side boys, so be patient. Also Val has asked me to thank everyone who came along and gave fantastic support. Dave Homewood

ADYFL Under 13 Division
Great Chart 9-1 Bromley Green
Report by Tony Gawler
On Saturday we made the short trip to Great Chart. The morning didn’t get off to the best of starts when we lost top scorer Charlie Bourne through illness and so travelled with just the bare eleven.
The first half started evenly but we went behind after 10 minutes to a headed goal and would have gone further behind to a penalty but Dan, making his debut in goal pulled off a superb save.
It stayed at one until the last few minutes of the half when we conceded to a cross that dropped into the net a further strike from the back post.
At 3-0 down at half time we still had the opportunity to push on but started the second half poorly conceding two early goals. The next goal went in our favour when a nice passing move involving Charlie Prior, Tommy Lockett and Aaron Maher sent Billy Gramson clear who supplied a cool finish.
The team pulled it together for a while but another 5 minute spell where we lost concentration saw us concede another 3. Great Chart finished the scoring with a debatable penalty. A 9-1 defeat to the current league leaders where 32 minutes gone we were just one down and showed the effort the lads put in.
This performance, despite the score line, was yet another that showed an improvement as the players are beginning to learn through the training and are getting fitter because of the time they are all getting on the field of play.
Today’s man of the match was a difficult one when it was an all-round hard working team effort, just edging it was Harry Middleton who, when concentrating won numerous headers and tackles and distribution was good.
Finally a big thank you to our growing band of supporters and those that help out allowing Val and I to concentrate on what’s important, the lads.
Team: Dan Martins-Quintal, Daniel Housden, Bradley Crust, James Oram, Chris Lee, Harry Middleton, Charlie Prior, Billy Gramson, Tommy Lockett, Aaron Maher, Ki Montgomerie.
Remember training Tuesday STARTS at 5:30 bring boots and trainers, shin pads etc.
See you there!

THE GAME AT HIGH HALDEN ON SATURDAY 6 OCTOBER HAS BEEN CALLED OFF BY THE HOME TEAM AND THERE IS TRAINING AT 10AM INSTEAD

Match date 29.9.2012
ADYL U13 Division
BGFC 1-15 Canterbury City Green
Report by Tony Gawler
On Saturday we played hosts to a very good Canterbury City Green side who dominated for most of the game.
We started well enough, kept our shape and the opening 10 minutes were fairly even.
We conceded soon after to go 1-0 down, the boys then had to work hard as Canterbury grew with confidence and by 28 minutes were three up and only some good saves from Bradley Crust kept the score down. We then ran out of steam at the end of the half and were a little unlucky conceding an OG, one from a cross and two further well worked Canterbury goals.
At 7 down at half time it would have been easy to give up, but the boys went out and chased all of the second half. Ryan Turner went in goal due to not feeling 100% and again it was 10 minutes before Canterbury added to their lead. Canterbury then added to their tally at regular intervals, but the biggest cheer of the game (also from the gracious Canterbury supporters) came when Aaron Maher broke clear and slotted the ball home.
Final score a 15-1 defeat.
Canterbury City Green are top of our league and it is easy to see why but for 20 minutes of the seventy we matched them through hard work and effort. At the end of the game the City manager said to me “keep working at it, don’t give up”. I think we can say the team never gave it up, so I have no intention too.
TEAM: Bradley Crust, Charlie Prior, Harry Middleton, Daniel Housden, James Oram, Tommy Lockett, Chris Lee, Ryan Turner (Capt), Billy Gramson, Aaron Maher, John Kellam, Ki Montgomerie.
Man of the Match: Charlie Prior- Excellent tackling and good distribution when he won the ball.

Report by Tony Gawler
Despite this being another defeat I was pleased with the way the lads played, overall a much better team performance than the previous week.
Once again the first half was fairly even and we went off at half time 2-3 down, with Charlie Bourne netting both goals one after linking up with Aaron Maher and another after a fine through ball by Billy Gramson.
The second half score line looks more one sided than it was in reality, with Charlie having an opportunity to grab his hat trick, Billy also having a good chance and John Kellam`s lob just cleared the bar. Chris Lee rounded off our efforts with a much deserved fine individual goal.
I felt our shape was better this week after working on that side of our game at training and now we can field substitutes we can give the players a little rest when they start to tire.
We have only just started the season and each week we are showing signs of improvement and if everyone works hard in training with Martyn and myself that will continue. A big thank you to all the supporters and particularly the lines persons much appreciated.
Squad: Bradley Crust, Charlie Prior, Daniel Housden, James Oram, Ki Montgomery, Aaron Maher, Chris Lee, Billy Gramson (Capt), Harry Middleton, Charlie Bourne, John Kellam, Tommy Lockett.
Man of the Match: Chris Lee, strong in midfield with good passing.
This week we entertain Canterbury City Green at the Waterside, 10am kick off. Players to meet at Waterside by 9.10am.

Match date 15 September 2012
ADYFL Under 13 Division
Mersham 6-0 Bromley Green
Report by Tony Gawler
We travelled to Mersham on Saturday morning, the day did not get off to the best start when one of the boys and family were involved in a road traffic accident, thankfully it seems that nobody was seriously injured and I wish them a quick recovery.
The game was one of who put away the opportunities presented to them, which in this case was Mersham. The first half was end to end with Charlie Bourne and Aaron Maher testing the home keeper but we went in at the half 3 down with Ki Montgomery in goal having no chance of the goals that were scored.
In the second half we tried to keep the ball better and succeeded for parts of the game but were always prone to be caught on the counter attack. Despite having more of the game in the second half we conceded a further three goals.
We are still learning as a team and myself as a manager in junior football and there are seeds within the team that show we can improve. The determination of the boys is encouraging and with Chris Lee and Tommy Lockett now signed on we can hopefully field substitutes for the first time this Saturday when we entertain Wye Juniors at Waterside for a 10am kick off. Players to meet at Waterside for 9.10am.
Team: Ki Montgomery; Charlie Prior, Bradley Crust, Daniel Housden, James Oram; Aaron Maher, Ryan Turner, Harry Middleton, Billy Gramson; Charlie Bourne, John Kellam.
Man of the Match: James Oram, worked really hard, tackled well and never gave up.
Apologies for no write up of our previous game which saw as go down 2-5 to Smeeth and Brabourne with Charlie Bourne scoring our goals.
