Canterbury City Youth 3 Bromley Green 4
By Robbie Greenfield
Sunday afternoon, on a very hot day we had our first game of the season. After a good pre-season we wanted to get out the traps and get 3 points. We started poorly, very sloppy passing and rushing everything we done, even though canterbury were pressing us very hard we still had time to get the ball down and play and was lucky not to be 2-0 down in 15mins, but Mark Whipps who had a very good game in goal kept city at bay. 20 minutes on the clock and finally we started to play as we know we can, with Kenny Perkins and Charlie Holewell finally starting to take control in centre mid. We had the ball down the right and good play from Joe Smoothy and Jack Stride played the ball in to Kenny Perkins just on edge of the box and placed his shot into the corner of the net, we then quickly got a 2nd, with good trickery and skill out wide from Ryan Ford, beat his man got all the way to the touch line and finished well from a tight angle. We were pressing well but with too many men forward we got caught on the break and the impressive City forward finally beat Mark to get 1 back. Our heads didnt go down and again good play out wide from Ryan played the ball in and Jack Mckie was there to tap the ball into the net.
2nd half and we played some very good football at times, but we were too panicky on the ball and just giving the ball back to City easilly, and as they broke from 25 yards there striker released a rocket into the back of the net. Again we went straight up the other end and scored, as Ryan cut in and the shot was too powerful for the keeper and slotted it in the bottom corner. From there we were having shot after shot but the City keeper was very good, and a quick goal kick bounced over every1 and there striker completed his hat trick to give us a nervous last 10 minutes. We held on to get our 1st 3 points of the season and me and tom are now hoping to press onto next week with more confidence on the ball and not to panic as much.
M.O.M was Ryan Ford, again or his trickery out wide and his second to none work rate helping out defend when needed. Well done to all the boys.

Chartham Sports 3-4 Bromley Green
Report by Reece Cahalane
We kicked off our season with an away game against recently relegated side Chartham Sports on what was a very hot day. We started the game very slowly against very competitive opponents and before we knew it were one behind. This was extended when a corner wasn’t dealt with and resulted in us being 2 behind. I think this is what was needed to kick some life into the side, this got the side playing football and before the interval George Mabb’s powerful finish brought us in 1-2.
The team showed real character to come back twice and leave with three points, but we definitely need to start games at a higher pace and improve on our talking to one another. This week’s man of the match goes to George Mabb, who is adapting very well to the wide left role and whose work rate up and down the pitch was impressive. Well done to all the lads, 3 points from our first game is a good result, we look to Dynamo United next week and continue our good start.

Bromley Green 5 Smeeth & Brabourne 1
Report by Martin Wirt
Our first game of the season saw us up against last years league winners! The boys were all well aware of this but were all really up for it.
Due to the heat both team managers decided to split the game into four 15 minutes instead of two lots of 30 minutes.
We got off to a great start and we were quickly 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Ryan. Smeeth and Brabourne came straight back with a goal to make it 1-1 within the first 15 minutes. The Boys went straight back after their fluid break to score 2 more goals in quick succession. The score was 3-1 after 30 minutes!
Ian and I reminded the boys to remain level headed as they had been in the same position the previous week and didn’t get the result that they had hoped for.
The boys played together brilliantly, spoke to one another and generally played great football. From front to back they looked very solid as a team.
We went on to score another 2 goals and won 5-1 at final whistle!
Goal scorers: Ryan harris with a hat trick, Cameron Bruce 1 and Louis Phelan 1.
Ian and I both thought our all round game was spot on. Well done to all the boys … keep it up!

Biddenden 2 Bromley Green 5
Report by Martin Wirt
So we started the new season away to Biddenden Juniors for the new under 10’s first game. This being their first game together as a team, everyone including the managers were a bit nervous!
However the nerves soon went when Coleson stepped up with a half volley within the first 5 minutes. The boys kept the pressure on all over the field with some good saves from our goalie Tyler and a solid defence with Beau and Joe.
We soon added another 2 goals both coming from Rowan. Biddenden then pulled one back to make the score 3-1 at half time. The boys were really excited! Ian and I told the team to continue the way they’d been playing in the first half. They did exactly that! Tyrese soon scored directly from a corner followed by another goal from Biddenden. Andrew came very close to scoring with a header, but was stopped with a fine save from the Biddenden goalie. The boys weren’t finished yet, Rowan then completed a hat trick with some unselfish play by Tyrese who played him in for an open goal. Final score 5-2 to Bromley Green!
Ian and myself are over the moon for the boys, keep up the good work!
Man of the match was Coleson for outstanding play.
Team: Tyler, Joe, Beau, Andrew, Mason, Coleson, Connor, Tyrese and Rowan.

Bromley Green Colts 1 Ashford United 2
Report by Duncan Randall
After all the handshakes were out of the way the game begun and I have to say that I was very surprised to see the level of football that the lads started off with, some great passing and the positioning was superb. No matter who was on the pitch at any one time the shape was exactly as we needed and everyone moved up and down with the play just right.
Again, communication was good out there and Lewis did very well as our chosen Captain along with Jayden being very vocal and authoritative with the newer players.
The 1st goal was to be Bromley Greens and thanks/well done goes to Joseph for his finishing. With that goal under our belt it looked like we could win the game as the confidence began to grow. No one really backed away from tackles or high balls and Thomas even cleared a corner with one of the best headers I have seen at this level.
The away team did finally manage to equalise and it is just unfortunate that Greg thought it was going wide so left it … lesson learnt there – always make sure!!
Time to up the tempo but the heat was starting to tell on a few of the boys so had to have a shuffle. Another great passage of play kept the score at 1-1 but 4 or 5 minutes from the end we went 2-1 down and just could not recover from this no matter how hard we tried. Final score was 2-1 to Ashford but I really do think a draw would have been a fair score as both teams were very well matched . Well done to the away team.
Man of the match goes to Jayden for another outstanding performance and great encouragement for the rest of his team mates.
To close, I am very happy with the boys efforts today and I am 100% sure that we will have a win very soon if we keep playing at that level. To each and every one of the team a huge well done – hold your heads up high!!! From the goalkeeper to the striker you all played a big part in today’s game and you are already growing as a TEAM!!
I cannot wait to tell our sponsors, John Page trailers all about the game, and I know Bill Page whom most of you have met will be over the moon.
Next Saturday, home to Wye Juniors…. bring it on!!!!
See you at training.

Under 11 Friendly
Bromley Green 4 Hamstreet 4
Report by Martin Wirt
All the boys were really up for the match today as Hamstreet have so far gone unbeaten. They started very well and were first to every ball. It would only be a matter of time until they scored! We had lots of chances in the first 15 minutes with Cameron hitting the bar and Hamstreet’s keeper making some good saves. We then got into our groove and ended up 3-0 up at half time. 2 goals coming from Alex Allan and 1 from Cameron Bruce. The boys were buzzing and I thought it was the best first half of football I’ve ever seen the team play.
I told the boys at half time not to think they had won the game already and to continue playing how they had in the first half.
In the second half Hamstreet went on to score 3 quick goals making it a draw. Alex completed a hat trick with another nicely taken goal making it 4-3 to Bromley Green. We unfortunately lost our heads and let another Hamstreet goal slip through making it a draw at the final whistle, meaning penalties. Bromley Green won 5-4! With superb goal keeping from Finlay and some brilliantly taken penalties.
I thought all of the boys did so well. Curtis played brilliantly at the back and also Zac and Sonny in the middle.
Man of the match goes to Alex Allan for his great hat trick!
Players: Finlay, Rhys, Curtis, Jack B, Luke, Sonny, Louis, Jack H, Zac, Kuba, Leo, Alex and Cameron
Well done to all of the boys. Can’t wait till Saturday!

Bromley Green Colts U11 v Ashford United U11
Preview by Duncan Randall
At last we have our 1st game of the season this Saturday and after last night’s performance myself and Ryan are really looking forward to it!
It will be the 1st time that some of you have pulled on the Bromley Green shirt in a league game and with the new sponsorship from John Page Trailers I know you will look the part.
The Colts have 10 new players (soon to be 11 with the signing of Lenny but I do not think he will be signed on in time) this season so I know for some of you this will all be a little scary at first so it will fall to the others that have already had a season at Bromley Green to help them along and encourage your team mates.
This game is not going to be an easy one but if we stick to what we have taught you throughout the training sessions and during the friendlies then we stand a very good chance.
The one thing we have to remember at all times is to have fun so go out there and enjoy yourselves.

Our first game of the season sees Bromley Green under 11s play hosts to Smeeth & Brabourne this will be a very testing opening fixture as they won the league last year, but we are sure our boys will be up for this game. We are looking forward to the season ahead so boys don’t forget is all about enjoying your football and having fun.

Bromley Green U11 Colts 2-5 Hamstreet
Report by Duncan Randall
Tonight Bromley Green Colts faced Hamstreet and Ryan and myself took a lesson from the last friendly and decided to play slightly different tactics which paid off right from the word go!! 20 minutes in and it was still nil nil!! A much better start than we have seen previously. We welcomed back Curtis and Jayden and newcomer Lenny who all played brilliantly.
There were some great passages of play and some great communication between all the players on the pitch. We ended up losing 5-2 but I can honestly say the score did not reflect the effort! Even the Hamstreet manager remarked that she thought we were going to beat them after such a strong start. We really did look much better out there tonight and I am really proud of each and every player.
Goals from Cade (his first for BG so well done, first of many) and Joseph with a well taken penalty.
For today man of the match was shared between Greg, Jayden and Joseph so well done boys. I want to name every player but I know you will all get your time very soon as the season begins.
Great to see so many people supporting as well, encourage at every opportunity! Well done and thanks from Duncan and Ryan.
First game of the season is this Saturday 8 Sept and all players are to be at the club for 8:45 so we can get changed and ready to get over to Furley Park School on Park Farm. Boots and shin pads and £5 match subs please.

Bromley Green U15 5-0 Great Chart U15
Report by Robbie Greenfield
Sunday morning we welcomed Great Chart to the Swan Centre for our last pre – season game, who got promoted last year and will be playing in division 1 this season. We started the game well, getting the ball down and playing some excellent football, but with Great Chart’s stern defence we just couldnt break through. We were playing well but needed that little bit extra in centre midfield, Dpendra went into defence with Harry Mansfield which allowed Charlie Holewell to slot in centre mid to which then we started to up the tempo. We went close on a couple of occasions but had to wait till the half hour mark untill we got our break through, a corner from Ryan Ford was cleared by Great Chart only for the ball to fall to Jack Stride on the edge of the box to power the ball home for 1-0. With the last 10 mins of the half we were getting sloppy with our passing but everything Great Chart threw at us Mark Whipps our keeper didnt have a save to make. At half time Me and Tom spoke to the boys and said get the ball back down and play as we had more time than thought on the ball.
The 2nd half started and we came out the blocks flying Ryan Ford again constantly beating man after man and he finally got his goal which he deserved picking the ball up out wide, taking on 2 players before cutting inside just outside the box and scored with a beauty. Great Chart’s heads were starting to go down and with Harry Mansfield clearing everthing up that came to him and Nathan Pepper and Callum Monaugh having 1 of there best games to date Great Chart’s attackers just didnt know what to do. We kept passing the ball and wearing Great Chart down by chasing all game. We got another corner and finally converted 1 out of about 20 when Harry Mansfield headed into the back of the net. With Joe Argar, Kenny Perkins and Charlie Holewell running things in centre mid and new boy Riq impressing on the other flank he scored a excellent goal, just inside the box, turned, left 2 defenders for dead and powered a quality goal past the keeper. (even Jason Thomas said woooow) It wasn’t long before the rout was complete, Kenny Perkins picked the ball up from about 20 yards and crashed the ball into the top corner giving the keeper no chance.
An excellent game of football displayed by the Green boys 2day and there passing and keeping the ball is 2nd to none, Me and Tom could not pick 1 player who had a bad game, and with our keeper Mark Whipps only having 2 saves to make throughout the game just proves how dominant we were against a higher league side. We both couldnt decide who was M.O.M so we gave it to both Harry Mansfield and Ryan Ford.
1.9.2012: Four games at the weekend for our youth sides … it is the responsibility of the managers to ensure brief details [and a report if you wish] are emailed or texted to Dave Homewood asap after the match. Thank you.

Under 15s win first friendly
Our Under 15s, sponsored by KPM Haulage, started their build-up to the new season with a splendid 8-5 victory away to Wye Juniors with Jack M leading the scoring with five. Here is the report direct from the manager:
Bromley Green under 15s made the short trip to wye on saturday morning to play Wye under 15s in our first pre – season game of the new season. We played 3 x 20 minute halves due to the heat and also to give the boys a rest and Me and Tom to give the boys quick instructions to improve in every half. We started the game very fast and was 1-0 up in 5 minutes when Joe Argar played a superb ball through the defence which Jack Mckie latched onto and rounded the keeper to give us the lead. It wasn’t long till it was 3-0, another two for Jack Mckie who’s work rate without the ball was very good. With the team passing and moving the ball quickly Kenny Perkins who was superb throughout the game was running the midfield and the right back constantly being beaten by the skills of Ryan Ford we got our 4th when Lewis Hagger played a great ball over the top and who else but Jack Mckie with another excellent finish.
In the 2nd half Me and Tom said to the boys carry on as u are and keep moving the ball as Wye were not getting near us. We started very poorly and took us 15 minutes to get going and looked like we were starting to panic as Wye scored 2 goals and were coming back into the game. In the last 5 minutes we finally woke up and moving the ball around the pitch, Joe Smoothy played an excellent ball out wide to Ryan Ford who again beat his man crossed the ball and Lewis Hagger with a great finish put us 5-2 up going into the final 3rd.
With the players starting to get a little tired from the heat we started the 3rd half just like we did the 1st, keeping the ball and making Wye work hard to get it back. Wye then quickly broke and there tricky left winger cut in and beat 3 or 4 players and scored a great goal. We didnt panic as Kenny Perkins controlled the ball and from about 25 yards scored with a beauty, a great reward for his great performance. We then quickly added another goal with a mix up in the Wye defence and Anthony Glyn tapped the ball into the net. Wye added another 2 well taken goals to there tally but there was another great goal to come from Jack Mckie from 20 yards and to round off his superb 5 goal haul.
This was a very good game and what Me and Tom have been doing in training is paying off. Excellent work rate from every single player. Man of the match could have been given to 3 or 4 players but Jack Mckie gets it for his brilliant work rate of the ball and his superb 5 goals.!
Final Score – Bromley Green 8 – Wye 5

It’s always exciting when the pre-season gets under way and we have two attractive home junior matches this weekend for the U10s and U16s. Details below.
We wish a speedy recovery to Ethan Collen, who is in the wars again with a fractured thumb. He joins U12 skipper Harrison Eldridge on the sidelines. With Aaron Maher still recovering from his nasty break, we hope for a little more luck on the injury front from now on!
Whilst it is not always appropriate to publish private matters, I feel it is important that they know we have been thinking of them during their ordeals in recent weeks.
Saturday 11 August: Training for Tony and Matt’s squads in the morning. Under 10s home to Dover Rangers, please meet 9.45am for an 11am kick off. Ryan Cherry is the referee for this one. Do stay and support the firsts if you can in the afternoon against the Kent County League Rep side.

Happy birthday (Thursday) to George who is 10
Happy birthday (Wednesday) to Alfie who is 13
Training as normal tonight (Thursday) except for U10 and U11
Training tonight (Wednesday 25 July) as normal for U14s and U15s
Thanks to all who contributed to making the tournament a success on Sunday. I will not list everybody as I am bound to miss someone! But you know who you are and it really was a fantastic team effort across all sections of the club. A few images from Paul … more to come:All hands on deck please this Sunday as every player in the club should be involved in our own tournament. There are no match fees to pay for our own players. Please remember the weekly training fee of £2 begins this Monday coming and should be paid to Claire on arrival or the appointed person for your team. I have been asked to remind parents that for one week only, there is no training for Under 10s or Under 11s next week. All other junior and senior sides are training as normal.
Please note that due to our tournament commitments on Sunday: THERE IS NO YOUTH TRAINING THIS SATURDAY (21 July)
Thursday training as usual … then it’s all systems go for the tournament on Sunday. All age groups have some players away, so everyone that is available will be involved and playing … please make sure your manager knows you are ok. Parents … all help will be much appreciated. The ground will be open from 5am to get everything set up. Briefing for all staff and helpers is at 6.30am. Stewards will need to be in their places by 7.30am please [Richie … can you be the main man on the corner turning into Turner Close please?] Visibility vests will be provided for all stewards.
I never cease to be proud of our young players! Brandon Bourne [left] is already helping train some of the young lads and wants the club to support him in due course with his referees course to add more strings to his bow. Martyn Dalby is of course a bit older and has won many awards, including the Tommy Stafford Memorial Cup twice and is the current holder of the Chairmans Award for Endeavour; however, he still stands in at short notice and took the U15s with Robbie working on Wednesday. We have so many great young people throughout all of our youth sides which gives us oldies encouragement for continued success in the future.
We have received some fantastic sponsorship for the coming season and I am waiting hear back from a couple more contacts that tentatively stated their interest. As soon as time allows, we will give heavy publicity for those that support us because, make no mistake, we will be the smartest club in the county!
Training as usual for everyone on Tuesday. U14s and U15s Wednesday.
Eureka! Green boys are lovin’ it at McDonalds
Tony and Val with our lads at sponsors McDonalds on SaturdayFriday 13th: happy birthday to Muhammed Zurel
Happy birthday to Lewis, who is 14 today [photo on home page]. Training as usual tonight (Thursday 12 July). On Friday, all helpers welcome from 4pm as we plan for the tournament on Saturday. Our U15s tried out their new strip sponsored by KPM Haulage last night [pictured below]
Vinters FC tournament [7 July 2012]
The Green had six sides entered in the huge tournament at Vinters Park and the learning curve continues with our sides developing in readiness for the league kick off in September. As reported on the home page, the U13s triumphed, winning the Shield while the U16s, U15s, U14s and two U10s put in some great displays before going out in the latter stages. More photos below and here is Duncan’s U10 report.
For all those going to the Vinters FC 5-a-side tournament on Saturday, please note the address is Valley Park Playing Fields, New Cut Road, Maidstone ME14 5SL.
NO UNDER 10s TRAINING ON SATURDAY 7 JULY – BUT THERE IS UNDER 12s TRAINING AT 10am
See the website home page for news of three more sponsors for our youth sides
Training tonight as usual (Thursday)
Please note Karen is not at the ground tonight. Those still not registered should complete all paperwork, bring photos, pay money on Tuesday please from 5.45pm. It is becoming boring now keep asking and it is not fair on Karen to expect her to sit in the clubhouse for hours on the off chance that you might drop in! The U16s, for whom only 9 have completed their paperwork, and U12s are the main concerns with lots of players but not enough actually registered. Without being registered, you can’t play!
The club sends its wishes for a Happy Birthday today (Weds 4 July) to Sonny who is 10
Sonny is pictured left with his U10 clubman award received at the presentations on 8 June 2012
Training as normal this week for all youth teams. On Wednesday we have a meeting for all those involved/interested in our own BGFC Juniors 6-a-side tournament which is on 14 July. We will need as many parents and friends helping out as possible please … it is your club so let’s put on a good show to impress our many visitors. Do please either come to the meeting or let Duncan, Martin or Shane know how you can help set-up or adopt a task on the day.
Also on Wednesday, prior to their training, we have the presentation of the kit by Martin & Co the sponsors of our Under 14s for next season.
There are still a few players to register … please get this done on Tuesday as it is dragging out now and it is unfair to expect Karen to sit in the clubhouse every night if you can’t make the effort. Thank you.
Here are the details of the two remaining tournaments we are competing in before the pre-season friendlies get under way:
We still need more players for Matt Coniam’s U12s for next season. They have a brand new kit sponsored by McDonalds. Anyone interested, or if you know of a player or two that might be keen, please contact Matt on 07970638109.
IMPORTANT AND URGENT!
Tues 26, Weds 27, Thurs 28 June 2012: Karen will be in the clubhouse from 5.45pm each night … Youth Managers this is your last chance to have an easy life by getting ALL of your players registered properly by Karen. After this week, you will have to organise photos, annual sub, consent form, league form, parents signature etc yourself. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR PLAYERS ARE REGISTERED BY END OF PLAY ON THURSDAY. Thank you all in anticipation of your cooperation.
Parents with more than one child registered for the club are entitled to half fee on the second player registered. Just inform Karen when at the register table.
Happy birthday Thomas
Good luck to all our teams in tournaments this weekend … if you are in any doubt as to where and when you have to meet, please contact your team manager
While you are out and about, we desperately need sides for the U15 and U16 sections in our own tournament on 14 July, so please take some entry forms and encourage any interested people to contact me straight away as we have reached deadline point. All other age groups are fine with numbers. Thanks
For those who need to know for Saturday and Sunday: Ridgewaye FC, Southborough, TN4 0AA
For the Snodland tournament, the address is Snodland Community Centre, Paddlesworth Road, Snodland, Kent ME6 5DP
Note: training on Saturday is for U10/U11 only
Important! Karen will be at the ground on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week to complete the registrations of ALL youth players. Please don’t leave it any later. Managers will have to chase those players/parents that have not signed by next week … Karen has been good enough to be in the clubhouse for two weeks now, plus next week, and there is a limit!
Great turn out at training tonight and a marvellous U10 friendly match against Hamstreet that ended 2-0 in favour of our visitors. Well played everyone.
Stop press: arranged this morning [Thursday] … Bromley Green U10s v Hamstreet 10s kick off 5.45pm at Waterside
Training for ALL youth teams on Wednesday and Thursday of this week as normal
Tuesday at 7pm when all training is completed, we will make presentations to those players who were away when we held the U10s Awards Night. It would be nice if a decent crowd could stop and applaud the boys who are: Ryan, Alex, Kuba, Samuel and Malachi. Also another lad, Zac, has raised over £100 for the sponsored penalty competition so he will get an award and his annual sub paid. Then there is the little matter of England v Ukraine and you are all welcome to stay and savour the atmosphere.
Lots of tournament action for our youth teams next weekend [23 and 24 June] and details will be on here during the week. See you all at training!
Just for those who wonder where their money goes, we have ordered new goals for the two pitches that are planned for junior sides next season at a cost of around £2000; we will be ordering new goals on wheels to situate on the senior pitches that the U14s and upwards will be using at a cost of around £4000 per pitch and we are looking at lights for the kids training that work out around £6000. I could go on but can assure you that £2 once a week for training and £5 a match does not scratch the surface!
Quick notes: Only tournament this weekend is for Robbie’s squad who are at Deal Town Rangers on Sunday afternoon (17th) … so do go and support if you can. Registrations: thanks to those who registered on Thursday … Karen will be doing registrations on Tuesday and Wednesday in the coming week for ALL youth players; so please let’s get all this paperwork done. Don’t forget at least two passport photos please and as soon as possible your annual sub. You must complete the new BGFC Junior Membership and Consent form – many of you have already done this. There are hard copies in the clubhouse but if you wish to download it, here it is again:
Message from Ian: no training on Saturday 16 June for Under 10s and Under 11s. As far as I know, there is training for Under 12s and Under 13s. Please ring your manager if in any doubt.
Update: Aaron is now home and his arm is in a cast. Best wishes to Aaron Maher who is undergoing surgery after breaking an arm at Biddenden this afternoon (Saturday). Please note that the U10s and U11s will be starting training at 5.30pm from now on until further notice.
Under 12s, U13s and U16s start at 6pm as usual.
Don’t forget that Thursday is ‘Registration Night’ for our U10s, U11s, U12s, 13s who will play in the Ashford & District Youth Football League in the coming season. Your manager will have furnished players and parents with full details. All players need two passport photos and annual subs are due as soon as possible please. On the night, two forms must be filled in: (1) the league registration form [the signing-on form] and (2) the club consent/membership form. Some of you have already completed the club form which should be given to Dave Homewood [not the ‘old’ form – but the ‘new’ form which has been available in the clubhouse for six weeks]. It is downloadable from the ‘Forms’ tab but just in case, here it is again:
Tenterden Tigers Tournament [10 June 2012]
Under 15 summary by Dave Homewood
A very early Sunday morning start and credit to the fifteen lads for all getting out of bed and being [reasonably] on time! With numbers tight during the week and, quite frankly, a tiny minority of lads thinking they can turn up when they feel like it, I took it upon myself to support Richie and ensure he had a full complement of players. Therefore we had Connor Gower, John Lee, Ben Barrett and Miles Christian all making their first appearance in addition to Craig Hodgson who impressed at training last week. With versatile Daniel also making his debut and James back after his little problem, a strong squad was assembled. But much more than that the vital ingredient of camaraderie was clearly there which augurs well for the coming campaign.
Dodgy directions led to Connor and his car load arriving just before the first kick off and this undoubtedly had an effect as we conceded two sloppy early goals before settling and, despite trying hard, we never really recovered.
So, a 2-0 defeat and the prospect of facing much-fancied local rivals Kennington in our second game. Everyone played their heart out and in my humble opinion this could prove the defining moment for not just the squad next season but for individuals that suddenly took responsibility and looked as though they were proud to wear the famous shirt.
This was epitomised by Adam Heathcote [left] who in the last few weeks has started to gain confidence and his performance and bravery before having to go off badly crocked by a dubious challenge was superb. In all honesty we rode our luck a bit; Wils had to pull off some great stops, while at the other end Craig, Miles, Bekim and captain George all had good efforts. Shaun again showed he can play in more than one defensive position while Jordan, Tyler C and Reece all played their part.
But it was the winning goal, well the only goal actually, that will last long in the memory. Why? Well it was beautifully crafted and driven home along the deck from outside the box by Connor [left] giving the keeper no chance. It could have been the great Glenn Mackett himself fifteen years ago. Hard and low! We held on and were in with a real chance of taking the title as we entered our last game knowing a win of any description would be sufficient. It was not to be however and in fairness our opponents MPE were deserved overall victors.
But in our camp, the acid test lies in learning from defeat and as Richie said a lot of positives were gained from this venture. The standard and tempo reached in the second game illustrated the enormous potential the squad possesses and with a bit more belief lads you could be part of another special Bromley Green team. Well done to the whole squad! Now, let’s have everybody at training on Tuesday and Thursday and keep this great spirit going.

What a brilliant night at the U10s awards! And the Mayor and Mayoress enjoyed their night with us as well. Thanks to Claire for all her hard work, all the sponsors, the parents and friends for supporting and of course the players themselves. Not forgetting our own Paul Carter, Shane and Matt for taking the snaps.More photos of Friday’s U10 glittering awards night can be viewed by clicking on the 2011-2012 UNDER 10s tab and scrolling down to Photos 2011-2012
Well done boys!
Well done to all who took part in the Sponsored Penalty Competition. There are still a number of you to pay in your money, as soon as possible please, and we hope to get the total raised towards new equipment up to £800.
For the record, Billy and Nathan, who both scored a maximum of 10 out of 10 in the original round again ended all square after ten penalties each in the final. The cruel sudden death saw Billy emerge victorious but all agreed both boys were great winners and there were no losers. James and Joe are to be congratulated on their excellent fund raising efforts and both will have their annual subs paid as a small reward.
Thanks go to Martyn for frying the sausages and chips! Also to parents and friends for turning up to support the final plus we are grateful to Cheapjacks of New Romney for sponsoring the awards. Good stuff boys!
Thurs: clubhouse opens 4pm for youth training … U12s and U16s be nice to see a few more of you again please. U16s you have 11-a-side on Sunday so please attend training on Thursday for full details. At 7pm we stage the Sponsored Penalty Shoot-Out between Nathan and Billy with the presentations at 7.30pm. Also awards for James Cambridge and Joe Smoothy who raised the most money to go towards new training equipment and lots of other goodies. Everybody welcome. Those that wish to stay for the portable floodlight demonstration at about 9pm, again more than welcome.
Fri: The big night with the usual top quality awards at the U10s Presentations for which Bromley Green FC are famed. Who will be the Clubmen of the Year? Who will be Managers Player? And the Most Improved Player? What other awards are there? All will be revealed on Friday at 6.30pm prompt. Please remember that admittance to the hall for the official awards ceremony is by ticket only purchased in advance.

Stop Press! Message from Dunk for the U10s and U11s
Report by Ian Mace
Again like the South Ashford tournament the Kennington tournament was very well organised and laid out. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for entertaining us.
1st game against Hernehill Herons
Not a bad start the boys settled into the game after a slow start but at least we were creating chances to score
2nd game against Tankerton Res
I think the boys had a hangover from last weeks tournament win as they started to make silly mistakes. I don’t know if the heat was playing its part but it was the same for all other teams, started to lose belief in themselves but again still only lost by the odd goal.
3rd game against Aylesford Orange
Battled well but unfortunately we came up against a good team and on the day they were the better side; but saying that, we still created chances in front of their goal. It’s good to come up against teams like this as it shows how much more work we need to do on the training ground.
4th game against Park Farm Rangers
After myself and Martin had a good talk with the boys they were asked to give it their best as there was pride at stake for we had beaten this team in last weeks final. Well it was like a different team we went ahead with a brilliant strike from Alex to give us a 1-0 lead and with us creating more chances we just couldn’t get that 2nd goal and Park Farm took advantage of a mistake from us and rolled the ball into the back of our empty net to make it 1-1 at the final whistle. But a much better performance and the boys responded well to our team talk.
Overall myself and Martin had a great day again with every tournament a learning curve, its good to play against different teams from all over Kent. We have to remember that at last years tournaments we were being beat by scores of 7-0, 8-0, to now winning tournaments and being able to compete and hold our own with all teams. This is a great credit to all involved and to the boys who have worked so hard at training and have shown their commitment and determination to want to succeed. They are also showing good friendship to each other this is great for team building.
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THEM
We would also like to thank everybody who came to support us.
VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER
Don’t forget to ask Claire for tickets to our presentation night on 8 June. Please don’t leave it too late as we need to know how much food to order.
This night is for all the boys to celebrate and collect awards that they have earned through our 1st season – don’t let your son or sons down please.
Scroll down for Dunk’s report of the Kennington tournament on 27 May and some photos from Lisa and Rae
All minors involved in club activities must have the Junior Application for Membership and Parental Consent Form fully completed with the player’s details and counter-signed by a parent/guardian and submitted to Dave Homewood or Terry Perk. The form is available in the clubhouse or can be downloaded by clicking on the Docs/Forms tab.
Kennington TournamentSunday 27 May 2012Unedited report by Duncan RandallWhat a scorcher!!!!The sun was well and truly out as we headed to the Hockey Club for the afternoon matches and what a great turn out!! The venue was packed!!Both our U10 teams were ready to go and my focus for this match report has to be with the Bromley Green Colts as I did not have the opportunity to see the others play at all.Once again it seems we cannot start hard and fast in the first few games and we take a while to settle! Once the realisation that the end of the day is upon us the pace increases and we end on a high. If we can just get the same positive focus in the 1st games as we do in the final games then we will be winning many more games. In my opinion we lost the basics but these are all things that we as coaches need to develop and work on to give the boys the confidence to take through to the games but they do need to make sure they listen and apply whilst having fun (so much to remember even I struggle!)That said, considering the heat they all done very well against some very good sides that tested every part of our game. The losses were only by 1 goal and one of those was almost at the last whistle after keeping a draw for so long. The last game is the one I would like to highlight as we went out against one of the top teams of the league, Mersham. This was not going to be easy as we knew they were going to press us early on and the heat had been sapping the energy all afternoon.Trent and I made the changes and the boys went out fighting – It was a very close game that ended in a 0-0 draw but…… Bromley Green Colts in my eyes came out as winners as they kept there cool and played football, Jack was superb in defence and played one of his best games that I have seen, not once did he back down and his positioning was brilliant.Connor, Cade, Jayden, Beau, Kuba, Lewis, Jack, Billy, Prosper, ThomasA good performance from all. I could honestly praise each and every player but this time I want to focus on the one player that stood out the most on the day:Trent and I chose Jack as our player of the tournament and the boys agreed which was nice – well done Jack, fantastic!! Especially your last game in defence – we could not fault you at all!!!Whilst standing on the sidelines I am proud to say that a few coaches/managers congratulated me on just how well the boys were coming on in such a short space of time and that the work BGFC were doing must be good! Even one of the referees said the same after one of the games. What a fantastic thing for those people to say to me, we should all hold our heads up high as we get noticed by all. The Bromley Green name is well and truly back on the map at youth level and there are a few local teams that are obviously realising that.Belief is now what we need to take to every game!!
All the best, Dunk

Hats off to Larry

Please see Claire at the ground if you have not purchased your tickets for the Presentations. Training at the normal times … U12s now start at 5pm and Jim is there every Tuesday, Thursday and also Saturday morning. For tonight (Thursday), Wilson is taking the U16s as Richie is not able to attend.Saturday 19 May 2012: South Ashford FC Tournament
Report by Duncan Randall
Ian, Trent and I met at the clubhouse nice and early to greet the U10s and the parents so that the lads could get changed ready for the big day – none of us knew what fantastic results would be in store for the Bromley Green family that took the short journey to Homelands.
One thing is absolutely certain – it will never be forgotten by everyone involved!!!!!!
I will start with the Colts:
The morning started off slow with a 2-0 defeat against South Ashford and then a 3-0 defeat against Hawkinge, whilst these were not huge losses it was clear at the end of both games that Trent and I needed to make changes to try and find a plan that would work. We were missing an out and out goal scorer and I honestly think that with a little more confidence the boys could have got a few great shots on target but that one touch too many meant that the opportunities went by unnoticed. That said there were a few moments of brilliance and a few of the players shone through.
The next game against Dawes Hernhill Herons ended in a 0-0 draw and that was a massive improvement on the previous games. A quick team talk and a little change around took us into the final game and the boys seemed to have that hunger that had been missing……… a few minutes later and we had our first goal courtesy of Jack Hollumby and our first win of the day. For the record this win was against the ADYFL league champions Smeeth and Brabourne. This is no mean feat and the boys should feel over the moon with this!
Both myself and Trent were really chuffed with the end result – we finished 4th out of 5 and if I played this same team again I am certain that we could have won 2 of the 4 games with ease. Once again if we had started the way we finished it would have been a much better result! You boys just need to believe!!
The boys played a huge part in our team decisions making sure they were happy with them and understood the reasons why.
Credit goes to them as we managed to be awarded with the FA Fair Play Award in the way of a goody bag full of football bits and bobs – the players voted for there player of the tournament and it was decided that Kuba deserved this for his effort and commitment.
Connor, Lewis S, Malachi, Scott C, Lewis C, Billy, Jack H, Kuba.
Well done to you all – fantastic result.
Over to the Bromley Green side plaing in Group B……..
Curtis Hagger Opened the goal tally for the day against Park Farm Rangers enabling our lads there 1st win of the tournament – 1-0!!! A great start!!!
2nd game in saw the Green boys win again with a 1-0 score against Mersham with a goal from Ryan Harris – again for the record Mersham finished 2nd in the ADYFL league so this result felt rather nice!!!
3rd game in and a draw (1-1) with a great finish from Ryan Harris.
The final game of the group and all we needed was a win or a draw to see us go through to the semi’s – the fingers were all crossed as the game played out and Ryan managed to grab us another goal to end up with the draw we needed!!!!!!
We had done it – a semi final for the 1st time in 12 months – all the training and effort had paid off – we were all very proud of the lads and were happy if we went home at this point…….. but the players had other ideas, they could see the final well within reach and knew they could do it!!
South Ashford were our opponents and our super striker Ryan made sure of our place by giving us the goal we needed to win 1-0!!!!
I have never felt so much pride in and around a team as I did on this day, we had made it – the boys had done it, our first final, could it be our fist trophy of many to come???
The final saw us move pitches closer to the stand against Park Farm Rangers (who had beaten us at Camber) and the nerves started to show (from the coaches and parents that is). The team talk was simple, “enjoy yourselves lads and do your best”.
A game of throw-ins for what seemed an eternity ended in a 0-0 draw and the day would be decided on penalties – what a cruel way for any game to finish and we all now how penalties seem to go for “us”!
Alex – scored
Zac – scored
Ryan – missed
Jack – scored
Louis – scores (as a captain should)
More importantly Finlay in goal was awesome and kept his cool!!!
They had done it – the lads had won and they celebrated with shirts off being swung around in triumph and why not?
Emotion ran high through all the parents and coaches as we watched both the Bromley Green teams celebrate together – it was not one team winning but a club, a family and the future that had triumphed.
The medals and trophy collected we met back at the clubhouse for the debrief from Ian – an emotional one at that!!
Well done to all the boys for a great day that we were all proud to be a part of!
Finlay, Luke, Rhys, Curtis, Zac, Louis, Jack, Ryan, Alex.
The trophy cabinet has been opened!
Once again…. Happy Days!
Cheers – Ian,Trentand Dunk
More news and photos from the weekend
More photos from the weekend games at HomelandsThe individual team managers have informed players of where to meet and at what time. Have a good tournament everyone and send me some pictures if you can … thanks DH
Tonight: BGFC Juniors 6-a-side planning meeting at 7.30pm. All welcome as we prepare for the event which will take place on 14 July.
Training tonight as usual but U12s don’t forget Jim will be taking you at the earlier time of 5pm.
All youth managers: the BGFC Junior Membership and Consent Forms are now in the clubhouse, so there is no reason why we cannot start getting them completed and signed by parents. They must come back to me as Youth Project Coordinator as the information is sensitive and will be lodged with the Welfare Officer. Thanks DH
Bromley Green FC Youth Tournament Application Form
We are now planning for our 6-a-side juniors tournament which is to be held on Saturday 14 July and, whilst invites have been emailed out, there may be some clubs who have slipped through the net (no pun intended). Clubs must be affiliated to a county FA and able to confirm their affiliation number. Clubs that don’t have the relevant application form can download it here:
Saturday 12 May 2012: Under 16s start well then fold at Southwood … Under 13s just miss out in the final at Wye … Under 14s get through to the semis … Report from U11s … Report from U10s
Saturday 12 May 2012: Ramsgate FC 6-a-side Tournament
The U16 lads started very impressively with a draw against Canterbury Eagles but then folded quickly in the second group match. The final game was close but we were undone by a penalty for a pass back … amazing how some referees are very selective about which rules apply! Although we did not go through, we need to remember that our only ‘senior’ players were Dan Harris and Wilson Guest with all the other lads playing against boys a year older. Lots to learn for most of the squad but some encouraging signs from newcomers Adam Heathcote and Brad Harris. Squad: Wilson, Dan H, Buster, Aaron M, Adam, James, Tyler, Brad. Thanks to Aaron Neil, Martyn Dalby and Thomas Moon for their support and Mark Harris and Dave Heathcote for helping with transport.
Saturday 12 May: Wye Juniors Ian Sloan Memorial Tournament
Today we had our youngest team (under 9s) at the Wye Juniors Tournament which is named in memory of the late Ian Sloan. Ian was a quiet man who did so much for the community of his beloved homeland of Wye in addition to contributing to the running of local football in general. He would have been so proud to see all the children freely enjoying themselves and I make no apology for paying tribute to him in these columns once again. A fitting memorial and … to the organisers today … well done!
Fantastic display by the U13s who came so close to winning this afternoon but just missed out at the final hurdle. The boys were up against some rather big looking opponents at times!
Bromley Green 2-0 Hythe Stars & Stripes
Bromley Green 1-0 Smeeth & Brabourne
Bromley Green 1-0 Mersham
Bromley Green 1-0 Vinters Green
Bromley Green 0-1 VCD Athletic
The Under 14s edged through from the group stages before bowing out in the semis. So many played well but the work rate of Ryan Ford [pictured] gets him this week’s special mention. Another encouraging afternoon’s work with some excellent play and wonderful goals … well done boys!
Matt Coniam reflects on the Green Under 11s at Wye
A fine morning for once after all the gloom of the last month saw us arrive at Wye with a new squad, only a couple of whom had played together before. After the initial introductions and a warm up we started our games well with a battling draw against Bearsted with Danny Endecott getting what I am sure will be the first of many goals for the Green. We then drew with Brabourne and Smeeth with their controversial equaliser coming only seconds from the end this time Danny and Scott Cale were the scorers both with quality finishes.
The following two games against the two very strong and physical Margate Youth sides were hard going for the lads and we were not helped by some less than acceptable refereeing that saw 3 boys having to be helped off in the second game.
Next up was a tight game against South Ashford that saw both teams miss chances until the last two minutes when Harrison Eldridge scored what must have been the goal of the tournament, an absolute screamer from 8 yards inside his own half that gave the goalkeeper no chance of saving it. The last game against the hosts Wye Juniors was almost a mirror image with our team missing out to a goal in the final couple of minutes.
The full results list:
Bromley Green 1-1 Bearsted
Bromley Green 2-2 Brabourne and Smeeth
Bromley Green 0-4 Margate Blue
Bromley Green 0-4 Margate Youth
Bromley Green 1-0 South Ashford
Bromley Green 0-1 Wye Juniors
This was a good day for a first outing for the boys and it helped us to see what work will be needed to compete at this age group in the coming season.
The squad as a whole performed well on the day with Curtis Hagger plus Scott and Lewis Cale making a seamless step up to the older age group. Harley Mexter did well on his on-pitch debut; Dylan Trevett worked hard without too much reward this week but I am sure will have better days. Danny Endecott took his chances well and will score a few more in the coming season. The defenders George Hone and Harrison Eldridge were solid and did very well. However, player of the day for me has to go to goalkeeper Ethan Collen whose technique and bravery is far beyond his 11 years.
As I explained to the squad, Jim Cunningham will be assisting me for the coming season and he will be taking training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5pm from now on. We are also still actively looking for more quality players to join before the start of the ADYFL season in September so please feel free to bring any you know along to training.
Under 10 Report from Duncan Randall and Martin Wirt
After finally coming to terms with the lack of sleep we grouped together at the tournament and started our games, we knew what we had to do but it seemed a difficult task to wipe the sleep from our eyes and switch on! The boys kept the Pilgrims at bay and forced a 0-0 draw.
Second game saw us lose to Smeeth and Brabourne but only by one goal! 1-0. The boys were not quite with it, however Finlay was pulling out some superb saves.
The third game against South Ashford the boys worked hard and chalked up our first goal of the tournament netted by Ryan Harris. We then lost to South Ashford (1-0) and also to Hamstreet (2-0) and another loss to Pilgrims (2-0).
6 games in and we had drawn 2 and lost 4!! It was time for a team talk! It was decided by the team that we had to win some games and get some goals, it was hard to get them motivated but we managed to grab our first win of the day against Smeeth and Brabourne with another goal from Ryan Harris.
The next game against Hamstreet; I have no idea what happened as we should of been on a high and going for goals but not so, Hamstreet did well and took the chance winning 1-0.
The last 2 games of the day were in my mind the best, not only because we won them both and finished on a high but because we played great football and worked fantastically as a team passing and moving on and off the ball. We beat Wye 3-0 with 2 goals from Ryan and 1 from Zac, then beat Wye again with a goal from Kuba [pictured].
So out of 10 games we lost 5 drew 2 and won 3, what’s more we finished 4th out of 6.
The tournament was won by Hamstreet in the end and I cannot think of another team that could of deserved it more, well done.
A huge well done to all the lads today for putting smiles on both mine and Martin’s faces, it was a pleasure to be there with all and see how well we are progressing. The defence was solid with Luke, Rhys and Lewis, midfield worked hard with Zac, Kuba and Sonny. The forwards did there work well, Ryan, Louis and Jack. Only silly mistakes stopped us winning more games and there is so little separating us from from the tournament winners.
All we need to do is start all the future tournaments as we finished today, believing in ourselves and the team around us – starting hard and fast and giving 100%.
Martin and I had a chat about player of the tournament and the clear winner of this was Finlay who really did work hard in goal and was consistent throughout. Only 8 goals went past him in 10 games!!
Martin & Dunk
Saturday sees tournament action for all age groups except the U12s and U15s [last season’s ages apply remember!] who get under way next weekend.
Wilson Guest and Dan Harris [left] are the ‘senior’ members of the U16s who are playing at the Southwood Stadium, home of Ramsgate Athletic FC. We have a number of lads missing for one reason or another – so thanks go to Richie and the younger boys for making sure we go with a full-size squad. We leave at 8am from the ground and don’t forget to bring trainers/Astros, shin pads and proof of identity and photo. And get into the habit of bringing a fiver! Anyone who does not get into the action on Saturday [we can’t play everyone sadly] will be first to start next time round. Our revised squad: Wilson G, Dan H, Adam H, Ryan P, Bekim A, Shaun B, Aaron M, James M, Kieran S, Brandon O, Brad H. For those who are just too young, be patient, your time will come!
At the Wye Juniors Tournament, the 13s and 14s will be playing in the afternoon and the managers will have given all players full details. There is a morning start for the 9s, 10s, 11s with Ian taking the 9s and 10s and Matt the 11s.
If anyone has any doubts, please phone your manager. Details are on the Contact Us tab.
Good luck and enjoyment to all the players! And parents/coaches please get the odd photo or two please … many thanks

Everyone seems to have found last weekend’s Camber Tournament worthwhile despite the less than kind weather and some stuck-in-the-mud moments!
My thanks to Claire for the photos.
The next competition for the U9, U10, U11, U13 and U14 teams will be on Saturday at Wye. The U16 lads [using last year’s age brackets remember] go to Southwood for the Ramsgate FC tournament.
Nathan is setting the pace!
Thanks to all those who took their sponsored penalties on Saturday … can managers make sure the rest of the lads please try and take them this week … I will give you a sheet that records the money paid in by each individual player and penalties scored. I can’t do it myself on Tuesday as I have to do the bar, sort out a thousand things and train the Under 21s. The forms have been out for ages and all the money goes towards equipment and providing all our teams with football. There are trophies and I will pay the £25 annual sub for the shooter that pays in the most cash in the three categories stated on the form. Definitely top of the penno pile at the moment is Nathan Pepper who netted ALL TEN of his spot kicks … well done mate!
Has anyone photos please from the Camber matches? If so, can you please ping them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I will then publish them on the website … thanks DH

Sponsored Penalty forms
Hopefully by now every player has their Sponsored Penalty forms. If not, they are still available from the clubhouse or alternatively print your own from the link above. It is expected that all youth players will have some fun and raise money for equipment at the same time. It will be staged on Saturday 5 May at the ground. A few players are at the Camber Tournament but they can take the penalties when they get back [it is the FA Cup Final on that day and kick off is late afternoon so the clubhouse will be open all day].
Training on Wednesday 25 April starts at 6pm for the Under 14s and Under 15s. On Thursday, the U10s/U11s/U12s/U13s have training as normal while the Under 16s have their ‘Meet and Greet’ with The Patron. More awful weather on Thursday but the U10s, U11s, U12s, U13s and U16s demonstrated their commitment with a splendid attendance. Well done!
Despite the atrocious weather, what a great turn out by our new Under 14s for the ‘Meet and Greet’ with the Patron. Well done to all. Thanks to Aaron Neil, Martyn Dalby and Wilson Guest for their help. With our Under 15s also training on Wednesdays, to complement training on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the atmosphere is starting to buzz again.

Top marks to the Under 15s who, despite a dreadful downpour at the usual inconsiderate time, turned up for their training session last night. Well done Karen for making sure all the lads attended and to Dave Andrews and Martyn Dalby for their support in Robbie’s absence. Next Wednesday the Under 14s will also be training at the ground, likewise from 6-7pm.
U15s training is on tonight (Weds) at the ground from 6-7pm. Robbie is on holiday but Martyn Dalby will take the lads for one week. So please turn up as normal, and Sue I will leave you some washing-up to do!
Following the new U15s joining us for next season with Robbie and Karen, we are pleased to announce that the U14s will also compete in the East Kent Youth League. We send a warm welcome to James, Tina and Colin Macey who will run the side. Both squads train at the ground on Wednesdays from 6-7pm and there are a few vacancies in both age groups.

The club sends birthday greetings to Rhys who is ten years old today. Also a mention for The Beast whose birthday was yesterday (31 March). We did sing Happy Birthday to him at the ground!

The Green U16s [eg those who will be seniors next season] will compete in the Ramsgate FC Tournament at Southwood Stadium on 12 May. The boys will be those that are interested in committing themselves to the club at senior level next season and will include current young players Kieran Shrimpton, Ryan Prior, Dan Harris, Wilson Guest, Luke Nash, Tyler, Grant and Aaron Hobday.
The Wye Juniors Tournament, also on 12 May, sees the Green enter at U9, U10, U11 and U14 age level. The managers are Ian, Trent, Matt and Robbie respectively.
Parents will need to ask team managers which children are picked for each tournament.
We are in lots of competitions during the summer and here is a link to the provisional list:
Youth Project plans for more teams
In addition to our two thriving Under 10 teams, we have many boys and girls that love training several times a week at the club. With this in mind, the intention is to expand our youth provision with more teams in competitive football leagues by next season. We are anticipating continuing with one Under 10s side, adding two Under 11s, Under 12s, U13s, U15s and Under 16s. The club is increasing its CPD activities to ensure we have qualified coaches/managers for all of the teams. All our staff involved with children and young people possess FA CRB clearance. All managerial posts have been filled but we would consider an Under 14 side as well if a suitable person put themselves forward.
The first trials for the new Under 16s will be on Thursday 29 March at 6pm. Just turn up with your mates and ask for the manager Richie Moore or one of the coaches [Ian, Aaron, Wilson, Martyn] and we will take things from there. Arrangements for trials and get-togethers for other age groups will be announced very shortly.
In August 2011 a few lads showed an interest in playing for the club and started attending training on a regular basis. Unfortunately they were too old for our U10s and too young for our adult sides.
Not to be outdone the lads agreed to get together a group of players with a view to entering a few tournaments, perhaps some friendlies and then enter the league next year. It is now a case of preparing during the summer for next season.
