Martin Wirt reports from the semi-final at Mersham
This week we went up against Mersham in the Cup semi final. We knew it was going to be a tough game but the boys seemed up for it.
The game got underway and both teams were playing good football. Mersham had the first real chance but keeper Charlie came out and made a good save. With about 10 minutes played we took the lead with a header from Hayden. This settled the boys and we started to dominate the game. The boys were knocking the ball about very well and when somebody was out of position some one else was alway there to cover them. With 20 minutes gone Billy scored with a lovely shot in the top corner. All the boys playing at the back were having a solid game. We had a couple more chances before half time but the Mersham keeper kept them out. We went in at the break 2-0 up.
During the break myself and Ian encouraged the boys to keep the pressure on because the next goal was very important.
The second half got underway and it was end to end with both keepers being tested. With 50 minutes played Hayden broke down the right and put in a lovely cross which Billy got on the end of with a great header, to put us 3-0 up. We was soon 4-0 up with a good free kick from Jack.B. With about 10 minutes to go the boys got a little bit sloppy and didn’t clear the ball which lead to a goal from Mersham. The boys got it back together quickly to see out the rest of the game to give us a 4-1 win.
It was another top performance by the boys to get to the final. They all worked hard for each other. Well done on getting to the final boys lets hope we bring the cup home.
Man of the match was Charlie.M. Good game up front and kept Mersham defence busy all game well done mate.

Bromley Green 6-1 New Romney
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we was up against second in the league team New Romney. We knew with a win today we would win the league but a loss would give New Romney a chance of winning the league.
We got the boys warmed up and you could tell the players were all a little nervous.
The game got under way and from the start you could tell the boys were going to have to work hard as New Romney started the better team. The BG boys looked a little off the pace and was second to every ball. New Romney had a couple of good chances to get the lead but keeper Charlie stood up to the task. The game was about 15 minutes in when we made the breakthrough with a goal from Charlie.M. We didn’t keep the lead for long as New Romney scored a lovely free kick. Both teams were battling hard and just before halftime we thought we had taken the lead from a corner but the Ref disallowed it for a push (I think he was the only one that saw it?) So we went in at half time with the scores level.
At the break myself and Ian told the boys they had to up their games and start being first to the ball and stop giving New Romney so much time. Curtis could not continue in the game after taking a knock in the first half.
The team went out in the second half raring to go, they were on top straight from kickoff. They were putting New Romney under lots of pressure but were still not taking their chances. Some of the boys started to get frustrated as some decisions did not go our way. Sonny and Louis were having a good game in the middle, breaking up the play and getting it out wide. Jack.B, Jack.P and Cam were very strong in defence. With nearly 60 minutes played we took the lead, which the team rightly deserved, when Reagan’s corner curled straight in. The whole team were buzzing but quickly remembered to stay focused. 5 minutes latter Ollie put us 3-1 up. After scoring this goal New Romney seemed to give up and we punished them by scoring 3 goals in 3 minutes (Reagan got another and Ollie got two more to claim his perfect hat-trick) We won the game 6-1 to claim the league title!
It was at great second half performance by all the team. Well done for winning the game and a massive well done on winning the league. We have got to remember the league is not over yet, we still have two games to go. We have won 18 out of 18 games, let’s see if it can be 20 out of 20!
Well done again boys myself and Ian are very proud of you all.
Man of the match went to the whole team for their great teamwork.

Tenterden 2-5 Bromley Green
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we was away to Tenterden. It was another cold morning so we gave the team a good warm up and the game got under way. From the kick off you could tell that Tenterden were up for it, putting our defence under pressure straight away. For the first 10 minutes it was end to end with both teams making chances and both keepers making good saves. It was midway through the first half when we took the lead with a goal from Ryan but moments later Tenterden hit back with a goal 1-1. The boys heads did not drop, they kept playing their football and then just before the break Billy finished off a good passing move to put us 2-1 up.
During the break we told the boys to remain focused and to keep the tempo up.
The second half got under way and the game was still end to end but we were making the better chances. The second half was about 10 minutes in when Ollie took one of those chances to give us a 3-1 lead. Zac, Ollie and Reagan were all having a great game putting in lovely crosses. Billy then got on the end of one of Reagans crosses to put us 4-1 up. Tenterden got back in the game. Even after Charlie.W made 3 saves and Jack.B cleared the ball off the line, we could not get the ball away and Tenterden scored to make the score 4-2. Sonny, Louis and Hayden were doing well in the middle, breaking up the play and getting it out wide. With 5 minutes to go Reagan whipped in another cross that Ryan got on the end of to make the final score 5-2.
This was by far our hardest game this season but the boys showed good character and great team spirit to get the win. Well played to Tenterden for giving us a good game.
Well done boys another step closer.
Man of the match went to Ollie – a good goal and some great wing play well done mate.

Report from Martin Wirt
This week we was up against Tankerton. With everyone fit and available Jack.P had to sit out for this game, he still came and give his support and with Ian having to run the line, Jack helped out on the side line. The boys had a good warm up and the game got under way. From the start the team looked up for it and with only 3 minutes played, what the boys were working on in training paid off, when Zac crossed the ball in and billy meet it on the volley to put us 1 up. The boys were playing some of the best football they have this season. With 15 minutes gone we were 4-0 up with goals from, Ollie, another from Billy and one from Hayden (to take his tally to 20 for the season). The boys at the back were all doing great jobs again and making keeper Charlie’s life easy in goal. With 5 minutes to go in the first half Cameron got two goals to put us 6-0 up at the brake.
During the brake we spoke to the team and said to continue playing the same football in the second half and reminded them to not get sloppy, thinking the game was won.
The second half got under way, the boys were still playing nice football, playing in their triangles and getting it out wide. It was not long into the half when Reagan broke through to get on the score sheet. Mid way through the half Charlie.M scored a nice goal, keeping his goal scoring record scoring in every game for us in 2015. Ryan then scored direct from a corner for the second time this season and with a few minutes to go Reagan scored again to make it a 10-0 win. It was another good win and another great team performance. We have not conceded a goal at the waterside this season, so well done to you all and keep up the good work we are nearly there!
Man of the match went to Zac – Lovely runs and crosses all game well done mate
Squad: Charlie.W, Jack.B, Curtis, Leo, Lenny, Sonny, Zac, Kuba, Ollie, Hayden, Billy, Cameron, Louis, Reagan, Ryan, Charlie.M.
Kuba and myself sat the boys down and asked them how they thought it was going. They all said they could do better. That made my job a little easier, as they all knew what they had to do in the second half.
The second half got going and the boys looked a lot sharper and wanted it more. They were playing some nice football and with 8 minutes of the 2nd half gone Ryan put us 3 up. The boys at the back were doing a great job keeping the colts out. The midfielders were all doing their jobs getting back to help out and getting forward to support the attackers. Ryan then put us 4-0 with another good goal. Hayden finally got on the score sheet after having lots of opportunities to score. Ollie rounded off the scoring to give us a 6-0 win.
It was another good team performance. The first half was ok but the second half everyone upped their game and it was a lot better. Well done boys and well done to the Colts, you gave us a good hard game.
That is 14 out of 14 wins in the league now and with 9 clean sheets! Lets try and keep this going boys you are all having a fantastic season!
Man of the match went to Jack.B for a powerful and disciplined performance at the back, well done mate.

Bromley Green 15-0 West Farleigh
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we welcomed West Farleigh to waterside for the 1/4 final in the cup.
We got the team warmed up and the game got under way and within 10 minutes we was 3-0 up with Hayden getting all 3. The boys were playing some good football but it was all down the middle we needed to get it out wide to open up the game a bit more. With 20 minutes gone there was a bad tackle on sonny which made him miss the rest of the game. Soon after this Jack.B pushed forward and got himself a goal and just before the brake Ryan scored straight from a corner so we went in the brake 5-0 up.
We told the boys they were playing well but said we needed to start using the wingers more.
The second half got under way and the boys ran riot scoring 10 more goals. Ryan got 3 more, Charlie got 2, Hayden got another one, Louis scored a penalty for his first goal of the season, Jack.P also got his first and Zac and Kuba also got one on the score sheet. The game finished 15-0. All the boys had a good game. Leo had a solid game for his first match back after his injury, as did all the defenders. Charlie had a quiet game in goal but done what was needed from him. So well done to the whole team you are though to the semi finals.
Man of the match was Louis Phelan – great work in midfield and also a well taken penalty.
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Jack.B, Jack.P, Leo, Cameron, Sonny, Louis, Zac, Billy, Kuba, Hayden, Ollie, Ryan, Charlie.M. 15-0 cup win
Scorers: Hayden (4), Ryan (4), Jack Brown (1), Charlie Morse (2), Zac (1), Louis (1, p), Kuba and Jack Petts (1).

5-1 win at Hawkinge … The Green are closing in on the title!
Martin Wirt reports on another powerful display
This week we were supposed to be at home to Hawkinge but due to a water logged pitch we moved the fixture to Hawkinge ground.
The game got under way and the team started off looking really strong and was knocking the ball about very well and keeping possession. The match was about 10 minutes in when Ryan took a quick corner which Billy met with a good header to put us 1-0 up, making that his 15th goal of the season. A few minutes later Hayden broke through to score and put us 2 up. Hawkinge started to get in to the game but with some good defending and some great saves from Charlie, we kept our lead. With 25 minutes played Charlie.M hit a lovely long range shot to put us 3 up and moments later Hayden grabbed his second goal of the game to give us a 4-0 lead at the brake. Ian & myself were pleased with how the team were playing.
The second half got under way and we were looking like a different team. We were standing off and giving Hawkinge too much time on the ball and with 10 minutes gone Hawkinge got back in to the game with a well taken goal 4-1. We were still making chances but we could not find the back of the net. We was hitting the post, their keeper was making saves and we was missing open goals. Charlie.W was having a great game in goal he pulled off 4 excellent one on one saves which kept us in the game. With 5 minutes left Hayden scored again to clam his hat trick and to sel a 5-1 win.
The team played very well in the first half but seemed to let their standard drop a little bit in the second half. However we have to credit the boys, they still got the job done with another 5-1 win. That’s 13 out of 13, so let’s keep this going well done!
Man of the match: Charlie.W, this was probably his busiest game of the season and he did not let the team down, some superb saves well done mate!
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Jack.B, Jack.P, Lenny, Cameron, Sonny, Louis, Zac, Ollie, Kuba, Reagan, Hayden, Billy, Ryan, Charlie.M
7 February 2015 Martin Wirt reports from Flood Street
With the team not playing for nearly two months, we finally got a game in against last years league winners Mersham. We knew the boys had to be on top form because Mersham always have a good team. We managed a little warm up then game got under way.
With only 5 minutes played we had to make a change when Sonny took a knock. During the first half there was not a lot between the two sides. We had a few chances but so did Mersham. Our defence and Charlie [left] in goal always looked in control. Just before half time we took the lead when Billy netted one against his old club. It was a perfect time to score and we went in at the break 1-0 up.
During the break Ian and myself told the team not to get careless and to remain focused.
The second half got under way and we couldn’t have asked for a better start, Ollie hit a good shot that the keeper could not keep out. The boys started playing some great football and looked full of confidence. It wasn’t long before we went 3-0 up when Hayden broke through to score. 20 minutes into the second half Mersham got back in the game with a well taken goal from a corner. This did not faze the team at all. No heads dropped and with 10 minutes to go our new signing Reagan scored on his debut to put us 4-1 up. With a couple of minutes to go Charlie.M finished off the goal scoring with a lovely finish making the final score 5-1.
Myself and Ian could not be happier with the way the boys played. Everyone gave 100%. It was a great team performance keep up the good work boys.
Man of the match was new boy Reagan [pictured below], good goal and a great performance.
Squad: Charlie.W, Jack.B, Jack.P, Lenny, Sonny, Zac, Louis, Cameron, Reagan, Hayden, Ollie, Ryan, Billy, Charlie.M

13.12.2014 Lucky 13 for Green at Wye
Report from Martin Wirt
This week we were away to Wye for our last game of 2014. It was a very cold morning and the pitch was very boggy through the middle so beforehand we told the team to get it out wide and get the early cross in.
The game got under way and it took a couple of minutes for the boys to get used to the pitch but when they did they took full advantage and with 15 minutes played we were 4-0 with goals from Hayden, Ryan and two from Zac (one of them may have to go to the dubious goals Panel!) after going 4-0 up the boys seemed to take their foot off the gas. They were still playing good football and were playing the ball out from the back and giving Charlie an easy game in goal but we just lost a little bit of urgency. We went in at halftime 4-0 up. It was a good half but myself and Ian knew the boys could do better if they upped their work rate.
The team went out for the second half rearing to go and with a minute gone Cameron broke through to score and moments later Hayden got his second. The boys were looking very sharp at this point and they were dominating all over the field. The defenders were winning every tackle and were first to every ball. With 10 minutes played Zac put in a lovely cross that missed everyone and ended up in the back of the net to clam his hat trick. Sonny and Louis were having good games in midfield breaking up play and feeding the strikers. We were 8-0 up when Jack.B hit a long range free kick, the boys kept the pressure on and Hayden broke though to net and clam his hat trick. 20 minutes in, Ryan got his second of the game and then Leo got his first goal of the season from a corner to make it 11-0. Billy got him self on the score sheet when he Coolly went round the keeper to tap in to an empty net. Cam finished off the scoring with another well taken goal to make the final score 13-0.
It was another fine performance by the whole team. They played some outstanding football and kept another clean sheet and it is good to see everybody getting amongst the goals. It was a good way to finish of 2014, let’s hope we keep this run going into 2015. Thank you to John and Sean for running the line and thank you to the rest of the parents and family members for all of your support over the year. Hope you all have a great Christmas!
Man of the match went to Leo for an absolutely solid game at the back, he did not put a foot wrong the whole game and got on the score sheet too. Well done mate!

6.12.2014 The fact that we have been awarded the points from West Farleigh being unable to fulfil the game today is not ideal as we lose the opportunity of boosting our goal difference. This week (13th) there is the short trip to play Wye Juniors and, despite beating them 9-0 at the start of the season, we mustn’t take the foot off the pedal.

29.11.2014 Green hammer a dozen in latest success
Report from Martin Wirt
This week we traveled to West Farleigh, we were missing a couple of players, Lenny with an injury and Ryan who’s mum and dad had their baby (congrats to you all!) We arrived at their ground and it was not the best playing surface you we’ve seen but the boys looked up for it.
The game got under way and in the first minutes we went 1-0 up when Kuba crossed the ball in and Billy meet it with a good header. A minute later Kuba scored for the third game in a row. I thought this would make the boys get a bit sloppy taking such a early lead but it seemed to make them work even harder. With 20 minutes played we were 6-0 up with Billy getting two more to clam his perfect hat trick (left foot, right foot & header) and 1 from Zac and 1 from Ollie. The whole team were playing excellent. West Farleigh only had one chance in the first half which Charlie dealt with. Credit to Jack.P, Curtis, Leo and Jack.B for giving Charlie a easy game. We went in at half time 9-0 up with Hayden getting on the score sheet, Ollie getting his second and Sonny claiming his first of the season with a long range goal. In my eyes it was the most dominant half of football I have seen from the boys.
All I had to say at half time was to remain focused and to try to keep the clean sheet.
The second half got under way and it looked like the boys where just going thought the motion. They were still in control but were not taking chances and were getting a little greedy at times. Fair play to West Farleigh who played a lot better in the second half but with 10 minutes to go Charlie scored a quick fire double and with minutes to go Billy, who started the scoring, finished the scoring to get his fourth and our 12th goal.
It was another great performance by the boys. They were so strong in every department. Another good win keep up the excellent work boys👍⚽️
Man of the match went to Billy for a fine performance up front and 4 good goals, well done mate.
A big thank you to the parents for your continued support and who offered lifts this week, it’s much appreciated.

Report by Martin Wirt on the defeat of Tenterden
This week we welcomed Tenterden to the waterside we knew this was going to be a tough game as we lost to them last year. We only had bear 11 for this game so we had to play a few players out of position. The boys were made aware of this, they wasn’t fazed with it and got on with it for the team.
The game got under way and the team were looking good. They were keeping their shape and were making space for each other. Tenterden had the first real chance of the game but keeper Charlie was up to the task and pulled off a good save. The game was 15 minutes in when Kuba put the Tenterden keeper under pressure who made a mistake to give Kuba a tap in. We soon scored again with a well taken goal from Charlie.M. Myself and Ian could not wait until half time to get the boys in for a rest because they had run their hearts out in the first half. They kept battling away and we went in with a well deserved 2-0 lead.
The second half got going and the boys were playing some of the best football that they have played this season. Sonny, Ryan and Louis were all having a good strong game in the middle and with Zac and Kuba out wide they always had an option. 10 minutes in and Charlie got his second goal of the game. Both Charlie and Billy were putting in good shifts up front and it was not long before Billy got on the score sheet with 2 goals, one came when Charlie hit the post with a header and he followed it in for a tap in and the other from a corner which he headed in. The whole team were showing good fitness levels in this game Jack.B, Curtis and Cameron did not put a foot wrong in defence, they all had quality games. With the game coming to an end Zac scored to put us 6-0 up at the final whistle.
This was a great team performance every one of you gave 100%. Myself and Ian are very proud of you. Well done keep up the great work.
Man of the match went to Cameron who played out of his normal position the whole game and was absolutely outstanding. Well done mate great game👍⚽️

Watch your step Mace!
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we were away to Tankerton. It was a very cold and windy morning but the pitch was in good condition considering all the rain we have had. There was just one person who could not keep their footing (remember the right footwear next week Mr mace!) The game got under way and the boys took a while to get into the game and get used to playing in the strong wind. The game was about 15 minutes in when zac hit a long range shot that lobbed over the keeper. The team started to find their feet and were keeping the ball down and playing same nice one, two’s. With 25 minutes gone Ryan got himself on the score sheet. The team got a confidence boost. However with10 minutes to go Jack.B took a bad knock to the knee and had to come off so we had to change the formation a little but the boys dealt with this very well and kept the pressure on. Just before halftime Billy scored a well taken goal.
With a quick team talk the boys went straight back out there.
The second half got under way and the team took there time to get going again it was 17 minutes in and Kuba scored from close range to put us 4-0 up. With Jacks knee feeling better he came back on and we went back to our original formation and minutes later Hayden put us 5-0 up. At 25 minutes Hayden had a shot that was going wide but Charlie.M flicked out a leg to turn the ball into the net to make it 6-0. With the game coming to an end Zac got 2 more goals to clam his hat trick. Making the final score 8-0. It was another great performance by the boys and another clean sheet for Charlie.W well done mate. That is 7 out of 7 games won now, let’s keep this going boys well done again!
Man of the match was Kuba for an excellent performance in midfield

1.11.2014 Inter-club derby win keeps title bid on track
1.11.2014 Martin Wirt reports from Waterside
This week we went up against Bromley green colts. This is always a difficult match and we warned the boys not to underestimate the colts as they have had a great start to their season & also have the same points as us.
The game got under way and with the team focused and ready, we got off to a great start with a hat trick from Ryan in the first 10 minutes. We went 4 up after 15 minutes with a goal from Ollie. Our defence were looking solid again, they were not giving the colts strikers any time to play so well done Leo, Curtis, Jack.P, and Jack.B. We went in at the brake 4-0 up.
At the brake we had to gee the boys up again because the last 10 minutes of the first half we looked like we had switched off and was just going through the motions.
With a little kick up the bum the boys went out for the second half fired up, and straight from the kick off we pressed the colts all the way back and forced them into a mistake which Cameron cooly slotted home. 5 minutes into the second half Jack.B brought the ball out from the back and hit a lovely long range shot 6-0. The team were looking great, there was lovely football being played. We had a chance to extend our lead with a penalty when Hayden was pulled back in the box. Charlie stepped up but keeper Fin saved it. (Keep going Charlie and the goals will start coming mate) Hayden hit a hard shot that hit the bar everybody stood and watched the ball came back down apart from Cameron who followed it in for an easy tap in. Charlie came close again when he hit the post 20 minutes into the second half. Ryan hit a quick fire double to take his tally to 5 for the game. With minutes to go Ollie scored again to make the score 10-0.
Well played again boys you are all really jelling as a team and playing some great football keep up the good work. Next up we are away to Tankerton.
Man of the match was Ryan [pictured above] – 5 good goals and a great all round performance

Mersham have called off Saturday’s match
Slideshow with some photos from Saturday’s victory at New Romney
Away win at New Romney
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we were away to New Romney we knew this was going to be our toughest game of the season so far.
We got the boys warmed up and gave them a little taking to. The game got under way and for the first 10 to 15 minutes there was not a lot in it. We made a couple of substitutions and put Louis in the middle. He seemed to calm things down by getting the ball down, playing some nice one twos and finding the space. Just after the 20 minute mark Hayden broke through to give us the lead. New Romney had a good chance to get back in the game but Charlie.W came out quick to close the angle and the striker put it just wide. We were 2-0 up just after 30 minutes when Ryan hammered home a penalty. With a couple of minutes to go the defence did not clear their lines and the ball came out to a new Romney player who hit a lovely shot that gave keeper Charlie no chance, making it 2-1. Myself and Ian thought the boys head might drop but straight from the kick off we went up the other end where Kuba got his first goal of the season 3-1 at half time.
Second half got under way and we were straight on the attack again and got another goal from Cameron. Every Bromley Green player seemed to be on top form we were playing some great football. With nearly an hour played new Romney hit a long ball over the top and nobody picked up the runner who scored to make it 4-2. This did not panic the boys and 2 minutes later Hayden got his second goal of the game. The game finished 5-2. It was a great team performance well done boys!
Man of the match was Jack.P for leading the team like a good captain should. Well done mate

Hawkinge 1-6 Bromley Green
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we were away to Hawkinge. The team seemed to be up for it after having a week off.
The game got under way and the boys were causing Hawkinge all types of problems at the back. We had chance after chance but we could not find the back of the net. After 12 minutes Hawkinge found themselves 1-0 up. Their lead did not last long after Ryan hit a lovely long range goal to get us back in the game. The weather conditions were not great but the team kept going and we took the lead when Hayden got on the score sheet. Within a couple of minutes Hayden scored again to give us a 3-1 lead. With the first half nearly over Ryan got his second goal of the game to take us in to the brake 4-1 up.
Ian and myself told the team to start getting the ball down as the wind was making it difficult to play the ball in the air.
The second half started and the boys were playing good football but they just seemed to be holding on to the ball for too long and not giving it early in my eyes. The boys must remember if someone is in a better position, then play them in. We scored two more goals in this half – a great header by Ollie and goal from Charlie.M (his 4th consecutive game he has scored in)
We won the game 6-1. Another good win, well done boys keep up the good work! That is four out of four and with 25 goals score and only 2 conceded it looks like everyone is doing a great job well done again.
Man of the match went to Hayden for great work in midfield and 2 good goals.
Squad: Charlie.M, Curtis, Jack.P, Jack.B, Leo, Lenny, Louis, Zac, Kuba, Ollie, Sonny, Hayden, Ryan, Billy, Cameron, Charlie.M.

Smeeth & Brabourne 0-5 Bromley Green
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we welcomed Smeeth and Brabourne. Myself and Ian knew this was going to be our toughest game of the season so far.
The game got under way and within a minute we thought we might lose keeper Charlie after he came out to make a good save and a S&B player left his boot in, to give Charlie a nice couple of stud marks on his knee. However Charlie got straight back up & was willing to keep on playing. Well done mate.
In the first 10 minutes it was end to end but both teams defence were doing good jobs and were keeping the attackers out. The game was 13 minutes in when Charlie.M put us 1-0 up. S&B had a great chance to equalise but Charlie.W pulled off an outstanding save. Just before the break Billy put us 2-0 up with a well taken goal. At half time Ian and myself could not criticise team in any way, they were looking strong in every department, so we just said to carry on playing the way they were, as a team.
The second half got under way & the boys started with some lovely footbal. The defence were having a great game, there were no mistakes, they were just doing the simple thing at the right time, well done boys. Jack.B got his name on the score sheet with a lovely left foot volley from a corner. Billy then grabbed his 5th goal of the season to put us 4-0 up half way thought the second half. The midfield and attackers were playing brilliantly, they were being first to every, great job boys. Zac carried on his good scoring form by netting a goal for the third game in a row. We won the game 5-0. It was a solid performance by all the players, well done boys that’s three out of three lets keep this run going!
Man of the match went to Jack.B. A great performance at the back and a well taken goal.
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Leo, Jack.P, Lenny, Jack.B, Kuba, Louis, Zac, Ollie, Hayden, Sonny, Billy, Ryan, Cameron, Charlie.M

Biddenden Juniors 1-5 Bromley Green
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we played away to Biddenden juniors.
The game got under way and we were on top form from the start, keeping Biddenden pinned in their own half. It seemed Biddenden were playing one up front and nine in defence and on a narrow pitch we were finding it hard to brake them down. We lost Louis to a wrist injury after 10 minutes (hope it is better for next week mate) The boys kept battling away and we took the lead half way through the first half with a goal from Zac. The boys seem to relax a bit after this, which lead to a bit of unfortunate sloppiness. This enabled Biddenden to get back in to the game with a goal. Keeper Charlie got a good hand to the ball but it just crept over the line. So we went in 1-1 at half time.
Ian and myself encouraged the boys at half time. We told them to be confident and to go and play the football we all knew they could play.
Second half got under way and we soon took the lead again with a goal form Charlie.M. The team started playing some nice football and the defence were doing a great job at keeping Biddenden out. Charlie got his second goal when he cooly rounded the keeper and slotted it home. He then hit them again straight away, to claim his hat trick. Cameron also got on the score sheet and made the final score 5-1.
This was a hard fought win but a well deserved one. All the boys gave 100% so well done everyone keep up the good work!
Man of the match went to Sonny for his endless running and great tackling in the midfield. Well done mate.
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Jack.B, Lenny, Jack.P, Leo, Louis, Zac, Kuba, Sonny, Ryan, Billy, Cameron, Charlie.M.

ADYL U13 Division
Bromley Green 9-0 Wye Juniors
Report by Martin Wirt
For our first league game we welcomed Wye juniors to Waterside. We knew Wye had improved and strengthened so we could not go into the game underestimating our opposition.
The game got under way and we were straight on the attack. We took the lead after 3 minutes with a goal by Zac. The goal seemed to settle the players and the boys started to play some great football. We soon added another goal, scored by Hayden on his debut. All our defenders were having a great game. They were making all the right decisions at the right time. So a big well done to Curtis, Jack, Jack, Leo & Lenny. We went 3-0 up at half time with a goal from another new boy Billy.
Myself and Ian were very pleased on how the team were performing. They looked very strong and controlled. We told the team to start letting the ball do the work and get the pass off quicker.
In the second half the boys really started to show their qualities. We added 2 more goals early on, one from Cameron and another from Billy.
The midfield were outstanding. They were working all over the pitch. So another big well done to, Hayden, Ryan, Louis, Kuba, Ollie, Zac & Sonny. You have all set the standard now boys. Charlie.M got himself on the score sheet with a well taken goal. We then got a penalty that Ollie cooly slotted home, this took the score to 7-0. Charlie.W was having a quiet game in goal but everything he had to do, he done well. Billy then scored again to clam his hat trick on his debut. Zac finished off the scoring with another well taken goal. We won the game 9-0. Some people say 9-0 must off been easy but it wasn’t, Bromley green played as a team and worked excellently together to get that score.
Myself and Ian were very pleased at how the boys adapted to 11 a side on a full sized pitch. It proves that the rigorous fitness training you have been doing has paid off.
Player of the match was Curtis, for some great defending well done mate.
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Leo, Lenny, Jack.P, Jack.B, Kuba, Hayden, Louis, Ollie, Sonny, Zac, Ryan, Cameron, Billy, Charlie.M.
Thank you to our new sponsor Colin Batt for coming and supporting the boys. And thank you to the parents for your continued support.

Season ends with 2-1 win against the champions
Ian Mace reports
Last game of the season and we are playing against the league champions Mersham who had not lost a game all season so we new this would be a tough game. First half started off lively with both sides playing attacking football but 10 mins in they took the lead from some good 1 touch football putting them through to score. Bromley Green heads stayed high as they were competing for every ball and playing some good attacking football, still went in at half time 1-0 down but playing well, myself and Martin told the boys that it was still all to play for only being a goal down and creating good chances at their end . Second half kicked off and the boys started as they finished the first half pinning Mersham back in their own half, we finally we got a rare free kick awarded for us just outside the box Ollie stood up to take the free kick with an excellent strike making the keeper parry the ball out to Jack Petts who calmly slotted the ball into the net to make it 1-1, now the green were flying high we kept pressing and playing good football making chances when finally Charlie Morse broke through their defence and slotted a left foot shot passed their keeper to make it 2-1 to the green. Final whistle went and we had beaten the league champions, brilliant result this shows that you can do it as long as you believe in yourselves like myself and Martin do we are really proud of them.
Summary of the players:
Charlie was brilliant in goal making crucial saves at the right times giving his defence confidence all through this big game, well done great performance.
Myles played well but had to come off in the first 10 mins with knee problems and couldn’t go back on to finish the game, good performance.
Jack Petts played a good game all through and scored from a good powerful free kick from Ollie only to see their keeper parry the ball to Jack who slotted the ball into the goal to bring us back to 1-1, good performance.
Jack Brown’s attitude and determination from the start of the game to the finish was fantastic he is fast becoming the all round player, good performance.
Lenny came on for Myles and from the off he was making good tackles breaking up play from their forwards and turning defence into attack, good performance.
Sonny stuck to the task ahead cutting out play from midfield and making good runs combining one two’s with his team mates to put us on the attack also working hard back in defence, good performance.
Cameron played a good game in midfield to start with, his touch was brilliant he then moved up front after Charlie Morse got injured, good performance.
Zac was making powerful runs up and down the line causing their defence lots of problems, good performance.
Ollie also making good runs up and down the line causing their defence problems, it was his free kick that assisted our first goal, good performance.
Louis came on after Sonny got injured and played some brilliant football in midfield looked really solid also battled hard for his team mates, good performance.
Curtis came on for Jack Petts who also got injured and had a great game looked solid at the back cutting out passes from their midfield to their forwards also passed the ball well after he had won it, good performance.
Man of the match Charlie Morse started great up front linking with our midfield, Mersham clearly from the outset was man marking him at all times, had to rest him for a bit through a bad tackle to his ankle but he came back on and scored the winner slipping through their defence and calmly slotting the ball past their keeper with his left foot good goal, good performance.
Martin Wirt reports from the weekend’s tournament
This week we had two teams entered into the south Ashford tournament. We had 3 new players playing for us as some of our players could not make it. So thank you to Phelan, Billy and Hayden. Both teams played very well in the hot sun and both managed to finish 3rd in their groups. This meant that unfortunately neither side made the semi finals but well done to both teams.
There is just one thing that I would like to say to the boys and that is, to not worry about the other results. Please just go and enjoy your football and play with a smile. These tournaments are a bit of fun, don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Win, lose or draw, we just want you to enjoy it.

Winners at Wye!
Report by Martin Wirt
On Saturday we had our first tournament at Wye. The boys started off with, 3 draws and 1 win which was excellent but to progress we had to win our last 2 games as other results had not gone our way. The team knew what had to be done and went and done it! With 2 good wins the boys showed great team spirit and they kept their cool, even when some of the other teams started playing dirty. We made it through the group stage and into the semis which we won 1-0. It was final time we went up against Kennington. The boys had played them in the group stage so knew it was going to be tough. Bromley green seemed to be the better team however we just could not score. So it went down to penalties! We asked the boys who would like to take one and five stepped forward (Ollie, Jack.B, Zac, Charlie.M, Ryan)
Kennington went first and scored. Ollie then calmly scored his. Bromley green keeper Charlie then saved a Kennington penalty! Jack.B was next up and smashed his in. Kennington then missed the target. Next for bromley green was Zac who stepped up and slotted his in! Tense times! Charlie was under a lot of pressure but managed to pull off another great save……..GET IN THERE we won!
Every boy dug deep and played to their best today. Myself and Ian were very proud. The team did not lose in 8 games and only conceded 1 goal. They showed good strength all over the pitch and all showed great team spirit and enthusiasm.
Player of the tournament was Charlie.W for some good saves in the games and some superb saves in the penalty shoot out. Well done mate!

Ryan and Charlie share nap hand in defeat of Smeeth & Brabourne
This week we went up against Smeeth and Brabourne. We knew it would be a tough game as they had beat us 2-1 earlier in the season.
The game got under way, despite the weather being awful, this did not seem to bother the boys at all. They were playing some lovely football and we soon found ourselves 1-0 up with a goal from Charlie.M. The whole team were defending brilliantly. S&B just could not brake us down. Ryan scored 2 good goals before the brake, to make it 3-0 at half time.
The team only had a quick drink and got straight back out there because the rain was still coming down heavy.
The boys started the second half just like they finished the first and it was not long before all the pressure paid off, when Charlie.M got his second goal. S&B scored a tap in after a great save by Charlie.W. We added one more goal before full time (a third from Charlie.M) We won the game 5-1. It was a great footballing performance by the whole team, well done boys.
Man of the match was Ryan Harris – 2 good goals and a strong all round game.
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Lenny, Jack.B, Jack.P, Louis, Sonny, Zac, Ollie, Kuba, Cameron, Ryan, Charlie.M.

From Martin Wirt [2.5.2014]
This week we was up against the colts for the Bromley Green Derby.
As the game got under way the boys looked like they were rushing a bit and therefore were not getting the ball down and playing football the way they have been. The Colts were defending very well but with 8 minutes gone we broke through and took the lead with a goal from Ryan. After taking the lead the boys seem to ease off and the Colts took full advantage and got themselves back in the game with a goal from Liam. This gave the colts a big lift and they started to put us under some pressure but with some good defending we kept them out.
The boys started to get back in the game and with 25 minutes played Cameron scored to put us 2-1 up, followed by Louis who scored a lovely goal, to make us 3-1 up and half time.
Straight from the start of the second half, the team were looking more relaxed and we soon added two more goals, another from Ryan and a well taken goal from Charlie.M. The game had to be stopped for a little while after the Colts keeper Finley took a bang to his head after making a brave save. The game got back under way and Sonny got himself on the score sheet. The Colts came back with a goal from Jack.H. Then Sonny scored another for Bromley green followed by Ollie, who hit the goal of the game, a lovely long range curler. The final score ended 8-2. Both teams put on a great show for the big crowd that came to support them.
Man of the match went to Jack.B, outstanding game mate well done.
Well done the rest of the team, everyone had a really good game today.
Squad: Charlie.W, Curtis, Leo, Jack.P, Lenny, Myles, Jack.B, Sonny, Louis, Kuba, Zac, Ollie, Ryan, Cameron, Charlie.M.
Thank you for all the support at the game and thank you to everyone who brought along food for the two teams they looked like they had a great evening, thanks again.

Bromley Green 6-0 Tenterden Tigers
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we was at home to Tenterden tigers we knew it was going to be a tough game because we had lost to them 2 weeks before.
The game got under way and the boys started off really well and was looking strong. The game was about 10 minutes in when Ryan put us 1-0 up. The team was starting to look like their old self with some lovely passing and some great movement. Charlie.M came close to scoring but was denied by a good save from the Tenterden keeper. Tenterden were making chances but Jack.P, Lenny, Jack.B, Leo and Charlie in goal where all on top form and were not letting them through. With 25 minutes on the clock Ryan scored again to double our lead and then just before half time Kuba scored a well taken goal. So we went in at the brake 3-0 up.
Ian and myself were pleased at the way the team had played in the first half so we just encouraged the boys and reminded them the game was not won yet.
We kicked off the second half and within 2 minutes Zac had scored. Tenterden then had there best chance of the game but were denied from a goal line clearance from Jack.P.
Ollie, Sonny, Kuba, Ryan and Zac were all having a good game in midfield and Charlie. M and Cameron were keeping the Tenterden defence busy up front. Cameron scored with a lovely goal to put us 5-0 up. With 10 minutes to go, Ryan scored the goal of the game to clam his hat trick. We won the game 6-0. It was a great team performance well done boys. It is nice to get back to winning ways.
Man of the match was Kuba for a good goal and a strong game in midfield.
Squad: Charlie.W, Leo, Jack.P, Lenny, Jack.B, Sonny, Ollie, Zac, Kuba, Ryan, Cameron, Charlie.M. Well done again boys.

Report from Ian on the New Romney game [Saturday 29 March 2014]
Bromley Green 0-1 New Romney
Last Saturday saw us entertain a good New Romney side who had beaten us 3-1 earlier in the season so we new this was going to be a tough game and having lost our last 3 games morale was not high, so it was back to the training ground we set out some good pass and move sessions to get the boys to be more confident on the ball and keep the ball moving quickly. The boys reacted really well to this and were putting lots of effort in as it was lacking in their last 2 games and were enjoying the sessions, come Saturday all the boys were ready and well up for the game against New Romney we started really well pressing New Romney Back into their own half making chances but could not put the ball into the back of the net maybe a bit more composure in front of goal and we would of scored still lesions learnt and we went in at half time 0-0. Myself and Martin told the boys to keep passing and moving and working hard for each other, so on with the second half pretty much the same as the first from Charlie in goal to his defence keeping a good line midfield and attack were combining well with our attack, all going well when with 5 mins to go New Romney attacked and scored making it 1-0 to New Romney against the run of play. Our boys showed good character kept their heads and carried on attacking the New Romney defence when we was awarded a free kick, it was a case of everybody forward making sure that they watched the line and not be offside. Jack shot the ball at their keeper it rebounded back to Ollie who put the ball into the back of their net ref blue his whistle for a goal when the linesman for New Romney put his flag up for offside for which our players were clearly not very disappointed to see that the ref went with the linesman the score ended up 1-0 to New Romney. I am not one to make excuses but the linesman done the wrong thing I know you want your team to win but not at any costs just be fair, how will the children learn and don’t tell me the that it doesn’t matter you should have seen the disappointment on the faces of our under 12s. Still moving on myself and Martin are really proud of our team this week played a good game just came up a little short in front of goal but overall very happy keep this up and we will start winning again. Men of the match this week goes to the whole squad.
Report of the Tenterden Tigers game
Tenterden Tigers 7-4 Bromley Green
This week we played away to Tenterden. Unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointing results, we lost the game 7-4. Our goals were scored by, Zac, Ollie and 2 from Ryan. We also hit the bar a couple of times and made 3 or 4 other good chances to score but it just didn’t happen.
This was a game I feel we should of won. We didn’t clear our lines and players didn’t mark other players tight enough. If we fail to do this, the other team are going to score. We gave Tenterden 5 goals because of this.
I am pleased that we were making chances. We just need to remember to do the simple thing at the back…”If in doubt, get it out!”
Sonny was man of the match and is pictured here with Ian Mace and Martin Wirt. He showed good passion and a desire to win. Well done mate
Team: Charlie.W, Jack.B, Myles, Curtis, Leo, Rhys, Zac, Sonny, Kuba, Ollie, Lenny, Louis, Ryan.
Preview of the away match with Tenterden Tigers [23 March 2014]
This week our under 12s are away to Tenterden Tigers and after a disappointing 2 loses in our last 2 games we need to get back to enjoying and playing the football that we were playing at the back end of last year, I know we have had a long lay off because of the weather but it is the same for both sides, last week we were beaten by the better side on the day so we need to brush ourselves down and start again lets get that Bromley green spirit back and never give up. come on the green.

Cup exit: “We must now get our heads up” says Martin Wirt
After two months with no football we had a hard test for our first game back, a cup game against Mersham. The game got under way and the boys looked up for it and were playing some nice football. The team were doing well at keeping Mersham out. We came very close to taking the lead when Charlie.M hit the post. We went in at half time with the score at 0-0. Myself and Ian were pleased at the way the boys were playing and we encouraged them to keep it up.
The second half got under way and we soon found ourselves 1-0 down, when we could not get the ball clear from a free kick. We soon got back in the game when Lenny scored with a long range shot. I thought this was going to be the turning point for us but I was wrong. The ref did not seem to notice a handball by Mersham which led to a tap in, which then led to the boys heads dropping! Mersham went on to score two more goals and we lost the game 4-1.
Boys you must remember to keep your heads up, whatever the score. A good positive from the game was the way the boys played during the first half, they never gave up.
Man of the match went to Cameron Bruce for some lovely skills and for not giving up.
Squad: Charlie.W, Jack.P, Jack.B, Myles, Leo, Sonny, Lenny, Louis, Ollie, Alex, Cameron, Charlie.M.
We are back playing in the league next week against South Ashford, so let’s get our heads up and get focused for the game. See you all at training on Thursday.
Preview for Saturday 8 March 2014
This week weather permitting we are at home against Mersham in the cup. Having only played 1 game since Christmas I am sure the boys will be up for this fixture and cant wait to get out and play some football. Both teams have strengthened their sides from last year so this should be a good game to watch with both teams scoring plenty of goals so far this season. I know that our boys will give it their best they just need to believe in themselves as myself and Martin believe in them, keep showing that Bromley Green attitude never give up, work hard for your team mates and most of all enjoy your football and have fun.

Bromley Green 4-0 Biddenden Juniors
Report by Martin Wirt
For our first game of 2014 we welcomed Biddenden to Waterside.
The game got under way and both teams looked up for it. The first half was very close with both teams making good chances and both keepers making good saves. With 20 minutes played we took the lead with a goal from Cameron, this meant we went in at the brake 1-0 up.
At half time Ian and myself told the boys to be patient and more chances would come. We knew we could do with another goal just to settle the neves a little bit.
Biddenden kicked off the second half and Zac stole the ball and broke through to get the second goal. The boys were playing some nice neat football and were looking very strong at the back. With 15 minutes of the half played, Alex smashed in the 3rd and with about 5 minutes to go Cam got his second of the game. We won the game 4-0. The team had to worked hard and dug deep to get the result because Biddenden put up a good fight.
It was a good squad performance on the day, with all players putting in a good shift.
Man of the match went to Charlie.W for some great saves and getting his first clean sheet. Well done mate.

Lenny is our Player of the Match at Wye
Report of the Wye game by Martin Wirt
For the last game of the year we were away to Wye juniors. The team knew they had to be on their game because Wye have not lost in their last 5 games and they have also signed some new players.
We got the boys warmed up and the game got under way and within 5 minuets we were 3-0 up with 2 goals from Zac and one from Charlie.M. The team were playing some of the best football Ian and myself have seen this season. With 10 minutes on the clock Ollie scored a lovely volley with some great build up play from Jack Petts. We went in at half time 7-0 up with, Ryan, Lenny and Cameron all getting on the score sheet.
During the break Ian and myself were so happy with the way the boys were playing as a team. We encouraged the boys to keep doing want they were doing and not to think the game was won.
The second half got off to a bit of a slow start and Wye were starting to put us under a bit of pressure. With 8 minutes played of the second half Wye were awarded a penalty from a mis timed tackle which they put away to make the score 7-1. With Wye scoring I thought the boys would start to panic and rush but they did the opposite, they were all calm and composed. We were soon back in the goals when Cameron and Ryan both got their second and Myles scoring for the second week in a row. This put us 10-1. With less then 5 minutes to go Ollie scored two more to get his hat trick. Charlie then got his second of the game when he knocked one in with his head, which made his dad really happy! We won the game 13-1 and it was a great team performance. All the boys had great game and it was good to see a lot of different goal Scorers A big thank you and well done to Curtis and Zac for playing a half each in goal. Report of the West Farleigh game 7.12.2013
This week we entertained West Farleigh at the swan centre and it turned to be a good game. The first half we dominated with goals from Myles, Ryan 2 and Kuba sending us in at half time with a 4-1 lead, West Farleigh re arranged their team to give us a better game in the second half and put us under a bit of pressure but with a good cross from Zac making a West Farleigh defender put into his own goal and a goal from Ryan to complete his hat trick we were worthy winners in the end finishing 6-2 at the final whistle. Man of the match went to Louis for his good skills and his awareness bringing his team mates into play with unselfish quick passing well done Louis. Well done to all of our team we are starting to get back on track with the top 3 only 3 points dividing us so lets keep it going, a great shot stopping display from our goalkeeper Charlie this week, still trying to get a clean sheet come on the defence lets help Charlie reach his goal for this season.

West Farleigh 1-10 Bromley Green
Report by Martin Wirt
This week we were away to West Farleigh. When we got there myself and Ian were not impressed with the pitch, it had no white lines, it was on a hill and it looked like a farmers field, oh and their manager was the ref. We gave the boys a good warm up, it was needed In the cold weather! They were all ready to go.
For the first 5 minutes the boys looked a little nervous but the nerves were soon settled when Zac put us 1-0 up. The team were knocking the ball about well. We soon doubled our lead when Leo scored his first of the season. We added 2 more goals, one from Jack.P and one from Charlie.M, to make the score 4-0 after 20 minutes. West Farleigh kept hitting the long ball and it paid off for them as our defensive line was way to high, which lead to them getting a goal back. The boys heads did not drop, this time they bounced straight back and got 2 more goals before the brake. Kuba with his first of the season, as well and Charlie.M getting another. We went in 6-1 at half time.
The second half got under way and we kept the pressure on but I felt some of players started to get a little greedy. We stopped playing the simple ball. We must remember winning even if we are 1-0 or 10-0 up, or even losing, we must keep playing as a team. Something that stood out was the defensive heading! Well done boys, the training paid off. Jack.B got on the score sheet with a header and Charlie.M got 2 more to clam his first hat trick for the greens.
Cameron finished off the scoring to make the final score 10-1 well done boys it was good win.
Squad: Charlie.W, Jack.P, Jack.B, Leo, Curtis, Louis, Kuba, Rhys, Zac, Sonny, Kuba, Cameron, Charlie.M.
Man of the match went to Sonny [below] for some great work in midfield and for four assists well done mate.
Preview for 30 November 2013

Our boys will be looking forward to this game after not playing last week and they I am sure will be giving it there all to put us back on track. Don’t forget training is only on Thursdays at the moment 6-7pm till further notice. My message as always is to enjoy your football and have fun, come on the green.

Report of the Wye friendly match [16.11.2013] from Rae

Scorers: Cameron 3, Alex 3, Zac, Lenny, Myles and Louis
Man of the match went to Leo [see photo below]

I expect there will be plenty of goals as both teams have been banging them in lately, lets hope its us getting the goals and not them, I know if our boys play to there full potential they can give them a good game, so come on the green lets have a good game and enjoy your football and have fun.

After a week off the boys where back in action to South Ashford and after losing the last 2 games the team were looking to get back to winning ways. The game got under way and the boys were looking sharp and up for it. We came very close in the first 5 minutes when Ryan hit the bar. It was not long before we took the lead when Myles hit a lovely shot from outside the box to clam his first goal for the greens. The team were playing some great football and we soon doubled our lead with a goal from Ollie. Louis added one more goal just before half time to make it 3-0.
The boys went out for the second half and were on the attack straight away. The pressure paid off when Zac got our 4th goal.
Ashford were playing some great football but they could not brake us down. Sonny and Ryan were both having good strong games in midfield. We were still making lots of chances. We added two more goals, one from Alex (another first for this season) and Ollie grabbed another. With the last kick of the game Ashford got a consolation goal which I thought they deserved because they play great football.
We won the game 6-1. Well done boys you all played very well.
Man of the match went to Jack Brown for a great defensive display and superb headers!
Squad: Charlie.W, Myles, Leo, Jack.B, Curtis, Jack.P, Lenny, Sonny, Zac, Ollie, Ryan, Alex, Louis.
From Ian … previewing Saturday 2 November 2013
This week our under 12s are away to South Ashford who are above us in the league so this is another big test for us, the last 2 weeks has not gone to plan with loses in both games and I am hoping that our boys are going to show good character and bounce back. They have the ability they just need to believe in themselves. I have to take the blame for these loses as the manager maybe making wrong substitutions maybe having too big a squad maybe not looking at other teams coming into the league, so I have taken in on the chin for reasons why, now it is the turn for the players to prove to me that I picked the right ones for my squad they have to show me that Bromley Green attitude that I always talk about good team work never give up always give it your best but most of all enjoy your football and show your ability that we have seen at the start of the season. Maybe this is what we needed it proves that you can not just turn up To win games you have to earn it by working hard playing football and most important playing as a team, we all know that 1 good team will always beat a team of individuals now matter how good they think they are, so its time for us to learn from the last 2 games and put it right in this game. Myself and Martin are looking forward to it and so are the boys. Training is going well twice a week but everybody must attend it is very important that we all train together just remember you must attend at least once a week to be picked.

Preview for Saturday’s visit to New Romney
This week we are away to new Romney who also have gad a good start winning 5
out of 6 games so far, another good test for us and we need to bounce back from
our defeat last week to Smeeth & Brabourne. The boys will feel unlucky to
lose last week but reality is that they wanted to win more than us so we have to
learn from that game and show our good character and bounce back in the race for the title. Myself and Martin believe in our squad and we are sure that they will be up for this game and show us the determination and want to do well, with that it is for me to say come on the green don’t forget to enjoy your football and

12.10.2013: BG 1-2 Smeeth & Brabourne
Report by Martin Wirt
It was our 5th game of the season, Smeeth and Brabourne at home. We took the lead in the first half with a goal from Charlie.M but S&B got the scores level at the break. The team knew what they had to do in the second half but for all their efforts the boys just could not find the net. Smeeth and Brabourne went on to win the game 2-1 with a dubious goal. This was a game full of ‘If’s and buts’.
I feel the boys went into the game thinking they had won it without kicking the ball. This was the wrong attitude! We can not underestimate any team. Every team in the league has strengthened. Hopefully this lose we kick the boys on for the rest of the season.
Ian and myself both believe the team will bounce back from this defeat and come back stronger, so let’s forget about this loss and focus on the next game.
Let’s end with a couple of good things:
Well done to Charlie.M who continues to score in every game he has played in this season.
Man of the match went to Myles for his great game of football well done mate.
Squad Charlie.W, Myles, Jack.P, Curtis, Leo, Lenny, Sonny, Zac, Louis, Alex, Cameron, Ollie, Charlie.M.
Preview for Saturday 12 October 2013 by Ian Mace
This week we entertain Smeeth & Brabourne to waterside ands with their impressive start to the season this is our first biggest test to the season as they have strengthened their side this year and are looking impressive with 4 wins out of 5 so far this season, we will have to be at our best this week and keep on showing the impressive football that we have been playing and carry on playing with that Bromley green attitude giving it our best working really hard for each other but most important play good passing football like we know we can. Good turn out to training this week shows how much these boys really enjoy to play football out of 18 in our squad 16 showed up for training for myself and Martin we are pleased with their dedication to wanting to progress as players and as young juniors wanting to get on. Don’t forget everyone its always about the squad and with a big squad you have to rotate every week I think the boys have adjusted to our rotation every week and realise now that competition between our players keeps them on their toes and also keeps the squad in an healthy position in the league and that’s where we are, so with that keep to our Bromley green philosophy most important of playing football is to enjoy your football and have fun.
Squad: Charlie Wealdlands, Myles, Leo, Jack Petts, Jack Brown, Curtis, Sonny, Zac, Ollie, Louis, Alex, Lenny, Charlie Morse, Cameron.
Vacation day: Ryan, Rhys, Jakub, Sam.

Ollie is our man of the match in 6-1 win
After a week off we were away to Hawkinge for our fourth game of the season.
Hawkinge kicked off and went on the attack straight away and came very close when they hit the post. Bromley Green were making lots of chances but just could not find the back of the net. The balls were hitting the post, going slightly wide or being saved by the Hawkinge keeper. The game was about 15 minutes in when Charlie.M played a lovely through ball, which Ollie got on the end of and slotted it home to put us 1-0 up. It was closely followed by a goal from Charlie.M, to put us 2-0 up at half time.
The second half got under way and we were making lots of chances but still kept missing the target. The half was about 5 minutes in and Hawkinge scored, making the score 2-1. This rattled our players and the team started to rush things, which led to them becoming a little sloppy. Hawkinge were putting us under pressure and if it wasn’t for our keeper Charlie, pulling of a suburb save they would have been right back in the game. I think that was a wake up call!
The boys started to get back into the game. With about 10 minutes to go, Cameron settled the nerves when he smashed the ball into the net. Ollie then struck two more times to claim his first hat trick for bromley green. Charlie also grabbed another to make the score 6-1 at full time.
Well done boys you got there in the end. On another day this could of been 20-1 with the amount of chances you had!
Ian and I thought every player had a good game. Remember to communicate with each other more. Keep it up boys!
Man of the match went to Ollie for a great game of football and a great hat trick.
Squad: Charlie.W, Myles, Leo, Curtis, Jack.P, Sam, Sonny, Louis, Rhys, Kuba, Cameron, Ollie, Alex, Charlie.M.

This week we are away to Hawkinge where we will need to be on our game as we did not play last week and could be a bit rusty. Myself and Martin are really happy with the way the boys have started the season with winning all 3 games so far scoring 26 goals and only conceding 4. But we must not take this game for granted we need to carry on playing good football and working hard for each other. Training has been going well and they have been working hard and gelling well together. We are sure that if they play to their full potential they can get the 3 points but most important of all enjoy your football and have fun.

So it was the first green v green of the season. It is a day that the managers and coaches dred. Myself and Ian gave the boys a good warm up and the team seemed right up for it.
The game got under way and straight from the kick off, Liam, for the colts, came very close to opening the scoring. The boys started to take control of the game and came close twice, one hitting the bar and one hitting the post! The team were making lots of chances and it was not long before we took the lead with a good goal from Zac. We soon doubled our lead with an own goal from a corner. The boys were playing some nice football and about 10 minutes in, former colts player Lenny scored to put us 3-0 up. The colts kept trying to hit us on the brake but with same good defending and some great saves from keeper Charlie, the colts could not find the net. We added four more goals before half time, 3 from Ryan and one coming from Charlie.M making it 7-0.
At half time Ian and I just told the players to keep playing the way they was, as a good team, and more goals would come.
The second half seemed to be a lot tighter, we were still making chances but we were not hitting the target. The whole team were putting in a good shift. About 15 minutes into the second half Ollie scored a nice team goal. The colts then turned the ball into their own goal again from another corner. We took the scoring to 10 when Ryan scored his fourth goal of the game. The colts did get a consolation goal when Luke hit a long range free kick and Ryan jumped to head away but it fell into our own goal making the final score 10-1. It was a good game from both teams so well done to all involved.
Man of the match went to Ryan for four good goals well done mate!
Squad Charlie.W, Sam, Jack.P, Jack.B, Leo, Rhys, Zac, Lenny, Sonny, Kuba, Ollie, Alex, Charlie.M, Ryan.
Well done again boys keep up the good work and remember to keep playing as a team…
Preview for Saturday 21 September by Ian mace
This week is local derby week as we entertain our own colts in what should be an entertaining fixture as the colts have improved a lot this season with some new players added to their team from last year. I am sure my players will be more than up for this fixture we have a strong squad and competition for places is always healthy in any team, if we show that Bromley green attitude work hard for each other and never give up and all give 100% then I am sure we can win this fixture but we must not turn up thinking it will be easy as I am sure Duncan and Tom will get their team fired up and raring to go. Myself and Martin are pleased with the way our players are performing at the moment they are looking strong and a force to reckon with. Danger man for them is Liam there top goal scorer with 4 goals in his opening game, they like to play on the break with 4 at the back and try to counter attack with Liam as their sole striker so Myself and Martin need to plan against that, don’t forget we have players that can score all over the pitch. If we play to our full potential we are sure we will come out winners but don’t forget most of all enjoy your football and have fun.
Squad: Charlie W, Sam, Jack P , Jack B, Leo, Zac, Sonny, Ollie, Charlie M, Ryan, Lenny, Jakub, Rhys, Alex.

Biddenden Juniors 2-6 Bromley Green
It was our second league game and our first away game of the season. We was up against a new team in the league Biddenden juniors. We got the boys warmed up and then the game got under way and with not even 1 minute on the clock, Ryan found the back of the net! Charlie.M soon added a 2nd. The team was off to a great start and were playing lovely football. With about 10 minutes played, Rhys broke through from midfield to score his 1st goal this season! Sadly that was the last part of the game Rhys played, after taking a bang to his nose. Ryan and Charlie.M both scored again to make the score 5-0. Biddenden started to get into the game and soon got a goal back. We came straight back with the goal of the game from Cameron, a lovely shot that went in off the post. So we went in at half time 6-1 to the good, it was a great half of football by the boys. We told the boys to keep playing the way they were playing and to stay focused.
We started the second half, however Biddenden looked like a different team. They seemed to be right up for it and within 10 minutes of the second half, Biddenden scored again, taking the score to 6-2. We were making chances but we could not put the ball in the net in this half. Biddenden should have scored a few more but with some last ditch defending and some really good saves by Charlie.W, we won the game 6-2. It was definitely a game of two halves!
Well done boys, two games played and two games won! Keep up the good work and remember to stay focused through the whole game.
Man of the match went to Curtis for a solid defensive display well done mate!
Squad: Charlie.W, Leo, Curtis, Jack.B, Sam, Myles, Zac, Kuba, Lenny, Alex, Cameron, Charlie.M, Rhys, Louis, Ryan.

Bromley Green 10-1 Wye Juniors
Report by Martin Wirt
The first day of the season had arrived and we welcomed Wye Juniors to waterside for our first match. We knew that Wye had a new manager and some new players, so as a team we were not going to underestimate our opponents. We also had 6 new players ourselves making their debut: Charlie.W in goal, Jack.P and Myles in defence, Lenny and Ollie in midfield and Charlie.M up front. Each of the boys have played a good level of football, so we knew they would fit right in to our squad.
The match got underway, within minutes our top goal scorer from last year, Ryan, started where he finished off last season – scoring a goal with a well taken opener. We came very close minutes later when Zac hit the bar. The boys were playing some nice football at this point and it wasn’t long before new boy Charlie.M scored with a powerful strike. Another new signing Jack.P soon followed with our 3rd goal. This was Jacks first goal in competitive football, well done! Fifteen minutes into the first half, Ryan scored his second of the game. After the fourth goal went in the boys seemed to take their foot off the gas a little, and Wye managed to hit one back just before half time. Making the score 4-1 to us at half time.
During the break Ian and myself told the boys to remain focused at all times during the game and to let the ball do the work.
The second half got underway and within the first 5 minutes, Ryan completed his hat trick with another good goal.
Credit due to the defence as this was our first game using off side rules. A big well done to, Leo, Curtis, Jack.P, Jack.B and Myles, who all had solid games.
The team continued pressing on and working well together as a team. This paid off, as after a good bit of passing, Charlie.M scored his second goal of the match. Louis also came close to adding another, when his shot hit the bar! It wasn’t long before another new signing, Ollie, scored his first league goal for the club. The score was now 7-1 to bromley green.
During the match, Lenny, Zac and Lenny all put in good shifts in midfield, all working well together.
With 10 minutes to go, Cameron got in on the act, after beating the off side trap, to get his name on the score sheet. The team as a whole begun to prove their fitness levels during the end of the second half, as Wye seemed to tire out, allowing Sonny to hit two calmly taken goals in quick succession.
We went out 10-1 winners.
Great first game of the season boys! Remember to stay focused during the whole of the game. We have some tough opponents this season.
Man of the match went to Charlie.M. Two goals on his debut…….what more can I say! Well done mate.
Squad: Charlie.W, Jack.B, Jack.P, Myles, Curtis, Leo, Zac, Sonny, Louis, Lenny, Ollie, Cameron, Ryan, Charlie.M.
