Smeeth & Brabourne 4-2 Bromley Green
Report from John Collen
This week we travelled to Smeeth & Brabourne with only 10 players available.
The team started really well with some good football being played from the back 4 and the midfield. The Greens took the lead with a 20 yard shot from Rohit who smashed the back of the net.
Smeeth were in shock and Ethan James Dison & Mason kept a tight back line, catching Smeeth offside all the time. Smeeth pulled a goal back 1-1 but we kept battling hard and a great ball into Leon, see Leon smash the ball across the goal and hit the net with a superb effort! 2-1. Smeeth grabbed another goal back and the 1st half ended 2-2.
The Greens started the 2nd half with maximum effort and Michael Joe Leon and Rohit worked well In midfield which gave us some good chances but we just could not finish as Smeeth defended well. Some more great team work and defending greens kept the game tight but the match finished 4-2 to Smeeth.
Great effort from every single player for the Greens today. We had 10 men for the whole match but you all played so well and never gave up! Well done!!!

Park Farm Rangers 8-1 Bromley Green
By John Collen
This week the U14s travelled to Kingsnorth for our 1st league fixture for 3 months.
The team started well and competed for most of the 1st half with some good defending from EthanY and James.
Park farm started to put some good football into play and scored 4 easy goals giving Luke no chance of keeping the ball out of the net. Joe scored his 1st goal for the Greens from a Corner smashing the ball into the back of Park Farms goal from a good assist from Rohit ending the half 4-1 to Park Farm.
2015.03.07 [1] U14s Ethan YorkThe 2nd half was very tight for the 1st 15mins with our back four keeping a very tight line and catching Park Farm offside. We pressed them hard with Michael winning a penalty after being taken down by the keeper. Sean hit the crossbar from the penalty and park farm scored 4 more goals to win the match 8-1.
Well done lads!! But there is a pattern forming in the matches each week. We compete well for 15-20mins of each half and then we switch off and leak goals. Fitness and attitudes to training must be stepped up please.
We hope Dison returns next week from his injury.
Captain: James – Great job!!

ADYFL Cup Qtr final
28/02/15
Bromley Green 0-6 New Romney
After over 2 months of no Football for the under 14s we switched our home cup fixture to New Romney’s ground due to the poor weather.

2015.02.28 James Russell U14s PoMThe team started well with some good defending and pressure for the first 20mins of the match and had a few good chances that were not taken. New Romney got into the match and scored 3 goals in the last 10mins of the half as we run out of steam due to the lack of match fitness.

The Greens started the second half well but just could not find a decent shot at goal to test the New Romney keeper but the lads did compete well for most of the half but got tired and let in another 3 goals to end the match with a 6-0 loss.

Considering this was the teams 1st game for sometime, I think they did well and it will take a few more games to get their match fitness back, but a good effort was made today.

Wye Juniors 9-2 Bromley Green
Report by John Collen
This week we travelled to Wye juniors for our away league fixture.
The team stared the match well pressuring Wye for the first 15mins of the half. Some good chances were not taken as we started to lose control of possession in the game and save after save from EthanC kept the greens in it for a short period, but Wye were just better and more hungrier to get the lead dispute Dison, Luke and James best efforts to keep tight at the back. The 1st half finished with Wye 4-0 up.
We started the 2nd half better and a great pass from Harrison see Sean out pace his marker and smashed a cracking shot into the top corner of the Wye goal. Wye came back at us down the left side and scored another 2 goals as they were given to much space and time with the ball. A great run from Sean see him chopped down in in Wye’s box and Sean then slotted away his 9th goal of the season for the Greens.
Things went a little quite from the lads but Joe did try to keep things going down the right wing but with not much support. The match end 9-2 to Wye.
The performance from the team was not great compared to the past 4 weeks. 20 good saves from your goalkeeper in any match should win you the game, but not today.
A busy morning for Dison, James and Luke and some tidy work from Rhys, Mason and Joe on their return to the 1st team.

Bromley Green 1-5 Smeeth & Brabourne
John Collen reports from Waterside
This week the U14s hosted our home league fixture against 4th in the league Smeeth & Brabourne, The conditions were not the best, but thanks to Dave Andrews for giving us the go ahead to play this match.
A good start from the lads today again, keeping Smeeth quiet, with some great defending from Dison, Luke, Kieran & James, and some good midfield play from Michael, Leon & Scott. A great through ball, see Sean hit the post with a great shot. Smeeth had the team under pressure but we still kept battling hard. A good ball from Luke see Harrison bring the ball down and out paced his marker to then go onto lob their keeper with a well taken goal, giving the Greens the lead.
Smeeth pressured hard, and two great saves from Ethan C, tipping the ball onto the bar and punching another one over, kept us in the match. Smeeth were worked hard, but pulled a goal back, finishing the half 1-1.
The lads started the second half well with some good chances on goal from Sean, Harrison and Michael but we just could not get the lead. Some good work from the whole team, see a battle from end to end, with a few questionable offside decisions given against the Greens, giving Smeeth the momentum to get another goal. The whole team work hard until the final whistle but we lost the match 5-1 as we just run out of steam after a hard fought battle.
Great work lads! Well done! After the match I spoke to the Smeeth manager and he said, that his lads, had been pushed hard by us and they really had to work for the win. Really positive comments as we may have lost but you all worked hard and were unlucky not take a 2 goal lead, it would have changed the game. COYG

Grasshoppers 0-4 Bromley Green
Report by John Collen
This week the U14s travelled to the Marsh Academy for our 1st round Cup match against Grasshoppers.
15.11.2014 U14s Kieran RThe lads started the match well and had Grasshoppers under pressure from the start. Sean and Harrison played well together and a great goal from Sean early in the game gave the team the motivation to press Grasshoppers hard. Some great defending from Luke, Kieran [our McDonalds PoM left with John], James and Dison kept Grasshoppers out of of the game and a fine penalty save from Ethan C kept us in the lead, as we finished the 1st half 1-0.
A positive team talk with every lad engaged, see the Greens start the 2nd half even better and another great goal from Harrison see us lead 2-0. More great defending and goalkeeping see the midfield with Scott, Leon, Michael and Rohit boss the game and Sean smashed the net with another great goal putting us 3-0 up. Dison ran riot over their striker beating him to every ball and frustrated him to the point that he got taken off. Superb defending! All the team was working at 100% percent despite the weather conditions and the Greens won a free kick on the edge of Grasshoppers box. Sean smashed a cracking shot, placing it in the top corner and gave their keeper no chance, giving Sean his first hat trick for the Greens. 4-0 was how the match ended with a great victory to the Greens and Ethan C keeping his 1st clean sheet this season.
Great stuff lads! And Well done! I am so pleased for you and the hard work you have put in this season, it is appreciated by myself and the club.

Pilgrims FC 4-5 Bromley Green
Report by John Collen
Another great performance from the under 14s again today as we travelled to Pilgrims FC for our league fixture.
The team started the match well today with every lad turning up to put in a hard shift on the pitch for their club.
We had Pilgrims on the back foot for the first 15mins of the half with a strong performance in defence from James, Luke, Dison and Kieran R; and Leon, Scott, Michael and Rohit working hard on the wings and in the centre.
A strong run from Sean saw him smash the ball into Pilgrims net. Putting us 1-0 up. Then some hard work from Harrison, assisting Sean with his 2nd goal two minutes later 2-0. The team really pressed Pilgrims hard and a great bit of football from Sean assisted Scott with his 1st goal for the Greens as Scott run into to the box and slotted the ball into the back of the net. 3-0. Pilgrims were awarded a soft penalty from the referee. Pilgrims scored despite Ethan’s best effort to try and push the ball past the post. Unlucky! 3-1. The lads kept their heads up and Harrison bossed his marker with a great run and Sean slotted the ball into the box seeing H smash a great shot into the goal. 4-1. Pilgrims grabbed two goals back as the half finished 4-3 to the Greens.
The team went back out in the second half and battled hard, Luke and Dison worked hard in the centre of defence and Kieran and James worked hard on the right and left as we were put under constant pressure. The midfield were always on the move with some good chances for Leon and Sean and some strong work from Scott, Michael and Rohit in the centre.
Another assist from Sean put Harrison in on goal again with H hitting the target with his 2nd goal of the match. 5-3. Pilgrims really put us under pressure getting another goal back. 5-4. The whole team’s work rate stepped up and Sean should have had a penalty after being taken out in the box, but the ref did not give it. A tough last 5mins see the Greens win the match 5-4. COYG!

Bromley Green 2-3 Park Farm Rangers

This week the U14s had a tough home fixture against 2nd in the league Park Farm Rangers.

The team started great today with some very determined football in the 1st half and some great defending from James Dison Luke and Leon and keeping things very tight in midfield were Joe Scott Rohit Michael and Harrison. We went 1-0 down but some great work from Harrison and Sean see the Greens level things with a great free kick from Harrison hitting the back of the net. Sean had a couple of good chances but a injury to his foot hindered his game today. A mistake in defence let Park farm back in with a 2nd goal just before halftime.

1.11.2014 [1}The team started the 2nd half motivated to get back on level terms and bossed the first ten minutes of the half and another great run from Sean and Harrison see H smash in his 2nd goal of the match, making his total of 11 goals for the Greens this season.
We held our own for the rest of the half with some really hard work from all of the team. A poor clearance across our box let Park Farm score an easy goal despite Ethan’s best efforts to keep us in the game all of the match with some great goalkeeping throughout. The match ended 3-2 to Park Farm.

Lads what a great display of football from you all today you should a be proud of yourselves and be confident for next weeks match. You held your own and were unlucky not to win against the team currently chasing the league title.
I tell you every week you are as good as any team in our league and today just showed it. Well done a great team effort.

Bromley Green 1-4 Kennington
By John Collen
This week the under 14s played their rearranged fixture against Kennington at Waterside.
A good turn out today from the lads today who started the match really well holding their own against Kennington in the 1st half until a poor penalty decision from the Ref against the Greens from a slip in our box from a Kennington player? Kennington went 2-0 up but the lads still battled until the end of the half, missing a penalty as Kennington’s keeper made a good save.

The Greens started the 2nd half well with some great defending from Dison, Luke and James kept Kennington working hard and Joe Leon and Scott worked well in midfield. Kennington scored another 2 goals giving them a 4 goal lead. A great ball from Luke from the back put Sean in on goal who smashed the back of the net giving the Greens their only goal of the match. The match ended 4-1 to Kennington.

The lads were unlucky today! Great effort and work rate from all the team The 1st penalty decision changed the match but you still battled on. Better football today but still much work to do.

New Romney 10-1 Bromley Green
Report by John Collen
This week the U14s travelled to New Romney for a tough away fixture.
The match basically started as it ended with most of the team not working hard enough or even competing for the ball. The defence was half asleep and very poor today and were just spectators watching New Romney just run passed them without any challenge for the ball and made New Romney look a much better side than they actually are.
I feel sorry for the lads who did really try without any help from players around them. A few good chances for Harrison and Sean, and a great effort from Sean see him score his 1st goal for the Greens on his debut. Good work from Dison, Michael and CJ in the midfield. Scott did well in his 1st match for the Greens. EthanC made some great saves in the 1st half keeping the score at 3-1 going into halftime. The match finished 10-1 to New Romney. Such a shame as New Romney were not great, we were just too asleep and very poor I think half of u left your brains in bed asleep this morning.
Please make sure you bring your brains with you next week and if you got some sleep the night before a match, maybe you would stop complaining to me how tired you are even before the match starts.

Headcorn 4-7 Bromley Green

Today the under 14s travelled to Headcorn for our 5th league match of the season.

The lads started the match with a great positive attitude. We cold caught cold from a corner and Headcorn scored a good header. 0-1.The lads got straight back at them, responding well with good pressure and Shane slotted a nice ball across the box to Harrison, who tucked the ball into the back of the net. 1-1. The whole team started to play some really good football and Shane got his 2nd assist of the game, putting another great pass into Harrison, who took on the defender and smashed another goal in for the Greens. 1-2. Good work in midfield from Rohit, Michael, Joe and Dison kept the pressure on Headcorn and Harrison put a nice ball into Leon who smashed another goal in from outside the box. 1-3. Headcorn could not cope with the Greens pressure and a good run from Rohit put Leon in on goal again seeing Leon lob the keeper. 4-1. We slowed down a little towards the end of the half and lost concentration letting in Headcorn to score from a penalty and slot another one in. 4-3 at end of the 1st half.

The lads listened to my instructions and the changes we would make during the 2nd half and they responded great with loads of pressure and hard work which paid off seeing Harrison complete his hat-trick with a good assist from Dison. 3-5. Some good defending from EthanY KieranR and James kept things tight at the back. A good ball into the box from Joe gave Leon a brave header clashing with the keeper but still hit the back of the net, completing Leon’s Hat-trick. 3-6
Headcorn got a lucky break and a good save from EthanC pushed the ball onto the post but Headcorn ran in and scored. 4-6. Some good work by CJ and Harrison gave H his 4th goal of the match 4-7. We changed to the park the bus tactic at the back and the whole team kept Headcorn out, with some good chances on the break keeping Headcorn busy in their half for the last 5mins. The match ended 7-4 to the Greens and the whole team and parents were very happy.

Bromley Green 1-1 Hawkinge
Report by John Collen
This Saturday the under 14s entertained Hawkinge for our 2nd home fixture of the new season.
The match started at a fast pace and the lads had Hawkinge under pressure all of the 1st half. We had some great chances on goal from Harrison, Dison and Shane, but we just could not hit the target. Some really hard work from Joe up the right wing, see Joe out running the Hawking defence causing them all sorts of problems and putting some quality balls into the Hawkinge box without any support from the BG forward players. Hawkinge caught us twice on the break and scored a goal against the run of play. We had a good few chances again but without reward. The half ended with us behind at 1-0.

Belated birthday present for Joe … PoM aganst Hawkinge

The team started the 2nd half with some good chances again and some good work from Michael, Dison, Joe and Leon in the middle of the pitch. Hawkinge had a good spell putting us under pressure but some great work from James, EthanC and KieranR at the back shut Hawkinge out. A great run on the break, see Harrison get into the box on the left and with a great bit of skill slotted the equaliser into the back of the net for the greens. We pressured Hawkinge right to the end but more chances were wasted and the match ended a draw.
I lost count of the amount of chances we had on goal in the 1st half alone. Lads!! You all know how this game should have ended and it wasn’t a draw. A draw is better than a loss, but a draw when you know you should have won by 10 is gutting. Well done!

This week we travelled to Grasshoppers for our 3rd league fixture.
The day did not start well with 2 no shows this morning, which left us short but the lads were in a happy mood.
The match started with a swift goal from grasshoppers catching us cold after 27 seconds. We came straight back at them with a good effort from Harrison just over the bar. We were slow getting into the game and grasshoppers scored another 3 goals. KieranR slotted one in the net for the Greens pulling it back to 4-1at half time.
The lads started the half much better with some good midfield play from Michael, Shane, Leon and CJ and great defending from James and KieranR at the back. A great header from a corner gave Shane his 1st goal of the season beating the keeper pulling it back to 4-2 We seemed to fall asleep a bit at the back gifting grasshoppers another 3 goals making it 7-2. A good response see Harrison score a great goal and then Leon smashed one Into the top corner from outside the box. A great delivery from a corner by Harrison assisted Shane again with another great header making it 7-5. The lads did try to pull the match back but run out of steam and the final score was 9-5 to grasshoppers. This weekend the under 14s travelled to Weald Wolves in Sevenoaks.

The team started well with some good pressure in the first 10mins of the half,
playing some good passing football which created some good chances on goal. A mistake in defence gave Weald Wolves their 1st goal. A great ball from Rohit put Harrison in on goal with a shot deflected off a defender and Dison ran in and slotted the ball into the back of the net scoring his 1st goal for BG.
A poor mistake from midfield let wolves score again leaving us chasing the game. A brilliant individual goal from Harrison, smashing the ball into the top corner of the net put us back on even terms. A lax in concentration gave Wolves another goal finishing the half 3-2.
The lads started the 2nd half under pressure and were pinned in our own half giving Wolves chance after chance with some lazy football in defence and midfield not clearing balls from our area which gave Wolves another 2 goals. We stepped up our game a bit and a great ball from Dison put Harrison on a strong run taking on the defender and keeper to slot in his 2nd goal. Some good chances from Shane, Dison and Harrison were unlucky but we run out of time, finishing the match with a 5-3 loss. Leon & James were strong at the back today with some good support from Joe.
We yet again should have won this one lads, but good progress is being made by most of the squad. Commitment, hard work and passion is all i require from you and the most important thing is to listen. Well done!

Report from Waterside by John Collen
Our first home fixture of the new season and it is great to be back around the people and the club again on Saturdays.
We had a tough game this morning against Ashford Courtside for our first fixture of the season.
The lads came out in the 1st half with a great attitude and work rate, putting Courtside under good pressure for 25 mins of the half with some good football and chances on goal from Dison, Shane and Harrison. We switched off for the last 10mins gifting Courtside 4 easy goals going into the 2nd half 4-0 down.
The lads came out in the 2nd half determined not to be run all over the pitch by Courtside and stepped up their work rate with some good chances which were not taken, but Leon, James and EthanY kept things tight at the back
With EthanC throwing himself at everything making it difficult for Courtside to score and saved a penalty boosting the lads even more. The final score was 5-0 but what a great second half performance today lads. If our work rate was the same throughout the whole match we would have won this game but great progression and good work.

Report by John Collen
This weekend, The under 13s travelled to vinters annual 5-a-side tournament.
The lads got off to a great start today in the group stage, playing some good attacking football and some great defensive play. We got some great results against good quality teams and had enough points to progressed into the shield knockout phase. In the quarter final we beat kings hill 1-0 with a great goal from Shane and great work by Alfie and Dison in attack and Kieran and EthanY in defence. We then faced Holtwood rangers in the semi final and the lads got stuck in and we beat them 1-0 with a smashing strike from Kieran after a great run from defence. Good work at the back from Joe and Kieran and some crucial saves from EthanC helped us progress to the final against Sittingbourne Athletic. The lads were a bit nervous as it was their first final but they gave it everything they had with some good chances from Alfie and Shane and Mason kept things tidy in defence.
The score was 0-0 after extra time and went to penalties. Shane and Kieran took their penalties well, smashing the back of the net and EthanC saved Sittingbournes 1st penalty. Mason took our last penalty well, slotting the ball under the keeper, scoring his first goal for Bromley Green. Sittingbourne needed to score their 4th penalty and a save off the post from EthanC gave us the tournament win.

This weekend the U13s travelled to the Faversham Strike Force 6-a-side tournament. A good turn out from the lads again today. We were placed in the hardest of the three groups but I felt and we held our own very well with some superb goalkeeping and defending from Ethan, James, Kieran, Rhys and Joe; w

ith Charlie, Michael and CJ battling hard in midfield and up front. There were some good attempts on goal from our newcomer Charlie and the work rate from Kieran today was amazing, leaving him battered and bruised after some rough play!

Everything today was positive and the displays against the quality teams we played, is to be praised.

John Collen reports from the Hawkinge Soccer Sixes Tournament
This Sunday the under 13s had an early start and travelled to Hawkinge for their annual soccers sixes tournament.
Bromley Green 0-0 Hawkinge Youth
Margate Youth 0-0 Bromley Green
Hawkinge Youth 0-0 Bromley Green
Bromley Green 0-0 Margate Youth.
The lads started well today and worked hard to keep their shape and positions.
The whole team worked well in defence with the tactics given, and Ethan kept four clean sheets with some great saves and defending from James, Rohit, Rhys and Kieran giving great support from the midfield.
Joe, Michael and Leon played some good strong football in the midfield and up front with Joe and Kieran giving the Margate defence a good going over and were unlucky not to score. We finished 2nd in our group but did not progress as there was 3 groups and we lost out by 1pt for best runner up in the groups. The lads walked away with their heads high as they left Hawkinge unbeaten and with 4 clean sheets.
Great display today lads, Faversham Strike Force next weekend. Well done! Lets keep this positive football attitude going for next weekend.

Bromley Green 2-8 Grasshoppers Green
Report by John Collen
This week the under 13’s entertained grasshoppers green. We started the match ok with some good runs from Leon on the right and a unlucky shot on goal which just bounced over the crossbar. GHG started to get into the match with some good play but our defence and midfield were just not up to the task of keeping them out, as we went into half time 4-0 down. We came out in the 2nd half a little better but let in another easy goal in the first 5mins and did not really pressure them until later in the half with a good goal from Michael G who played well on the wing following in and deserved his goal. GHG scored another 3 goals and we replied with the last goal of the game from our keeper Ethan C who came out on the pitch and scored within 10 mins with a determined effort to get in on goal and score. The match end with GHG walking away with the win and the final score was 2-8. This was more than likely our last game of the season. Well done to the lads who have worked hard at training and in the matches and have been available week in week out all season. Now we have five months of really hard work ahead of us to prepare for the new season. We have our first tournament 10/05/2014 at Wye. With new players coming in from now on all the existing team members will need to work hard in training as I can only take one team of 8 to Wye.

John Collen reports from Homelands
After being given this great opportunity from the club to play at Homelands, I stupidly thought the team would have turned up today and put in the game of our season.
Weald Wolves turned up today with 9 players and made us look very poor indeed. All I can say is that we embarrassed the club today.
I as a manager have let you down by completely picking the wrong squad this season, making changes which I thought were good for the team; but maybe there is some regret now.
I am now looking forward to the end of the season, which is quite sad to say really, so I can draft in new players. There are lads who work hard for the team, some lads who just turn up if they are available and others who just can’t be bothered. Me and Mickey have worked hard with you lads this season to get progression but you have let yourselves down by not listening and learning. Pre- season requires you to work hard and be 100% committed to be available as I am looking to sign only these types of lads for next season’s squad. If any of you read this, as I know most of you don’t, please have a think.

Bromley Green 1-6 Hawkinge
A nice sunny start to the fixture today as we entertained Hawkinge.
The team started the match really well with a good chance in the first 5mins from Kieran forcing the Hawkinge keeper make a save. Hawkinge started to get into the match but we did pressure them throughout the half and some great defending from James and good saves from Ethan could not keep Hawkinge from scoring four goals with Luke getting a good chance on goal created by Kieran & Leon which smashed the back of the net getting us a goal back, going into the 2nd half 4-1 down.
I had a word with the defence at half time and they stepped up their game in the second half and kept Hawkinge at bay which gave us a spell of good pressure and some good football was played with some great chances from Kieran & CJ and good midfield play from Rohit, Luke & Alfie, but the match finished 6-1 to Hawkinge.
Today I saw some good spells of football from the lads but we will be working hard thought the summer to tighten the play up as a team.
Well done James great work rate, defending & attacking today. It was nice to see Shane come and support the team today. He will be back from injury in time for the tournaments.

Bromley Green 1-17 Smeeth & Brabourne
John Collen reports from Waterside
This week we had a midweek home match against Smeeth & Brabourne. The lads started well, with Shane chasing the ball to keep it in play with great effort he kept the ball in play but unfortunately took a knock, fell and broke his wrist in the first five minutes of the match. Smeeth then started applying pressure and scored goal after goal in the first half despite Ethan C making save after save but we just were too slow to clear the ball. The one positive thing was a good bit of pressure and a great run from Kieran who slot away a nice goal. The second half was much the same with Smeeth winning the game 17-1.
Lads we put Smeeth under pressure once and a good goal came from a great bit of football with pace. The defence was very lazy tonight with no effort to play, with simple clearances being missed, gifting Smeeth goals.
It will come but maybe not this season – we have a lot of hard work ahead of us.

This week we were away to Park Farm. Not much to report really. The match started as it ended with us under constant pressure all throughout the match as some of the team did not turn up to play, just stood and watched Park Farm run rings round us. There was no hunger or passion to chase the ball, just a little effort would have been nice for a change. Well done to the lads who did turn up and ran all over the pitch but playing as a 7 man team against 11 is very hard work. If some of you don’t want to listen and work hard for the team, then there is not much I can do.
One thing said it all today, when I saw Park Farm’s goalkeeper laying down in his goal sunbathing. Remember lads we are here for you not ourselves and the only people that can make wins happen is you!

Report by John Collen
It’s great to see the team playing football every week again. This week we travelled to Hawkinge FC for tough fixture due to the weather conditions.
We started off the match really well with some good determination and defending in the first half as we were pinned in our own half due to the gale force wind and uphill pitch conditions. We had some really good chances on the break but could not find the back off the net. Some really lax defending from a corner gave Hawkinge their 1st goal and we ended the half 4-0 down.
The team came out in the second half with their heads up and we had hawkinge pinned in their half all the rest of the match with chance after chance being missed or a lack of passion and energy to outpace hawkinge defence as some of the team just stopped chasing the ball when they were in on goal? Shane scored our only goal of the match, making the Hawkinge goalkeeper push the ball into the back of his net from a 20 yard shot. The match ended 4-1 to Hawkinge but we definitely should have won this one lads, but some very positive football on the pitch today. Well done! The win will come if we play this kind of football every week but we need to score goals from the lots of chances we are making.

Bromley Green 0- 6 Pilgrims
Report by John Collen
This week we were at home to Pilgrims for our first home fixture since Christmas. The lads started the match very positive with some very good football in the first 15mins from Shane, CJ and Kieran, on the right and from Leon and Luke on the left, also in the centre from Alfie and James. We had some great easy scoring opportunities and should have been 4-0 up but just could not score to get in front. Pilgrims then scored two easy goals against the run of play, despite our defences best efforts. Pilgrims lead the match 0-2 at half time.
We started the 2nd half still positive and with our heads up and did try and get back into the match not giving pilgrims any chances on goal for 10mins but our forward play was very sloppy and we kept giving the ball away to easy. Pilgrims first attack of the half was from a corner, which they scored from as we lacked concentration. Pilgrims then started to pressure us and scored another 4 goals as some of the team just didn’t try hard enough. The final score ended 0-6 and pilgrims walked away with the points.
There was some good positive football from most of the team today, but we need to be more consistent for a whole match and try to score from the plenty of opportunities we create, and there has been plenty of them this season. To win games and earn points we need score goals from our chances.

Ethan is our McDonalds Player of the Match at Wye

We played this Cup fixture as the home team at Wye Juniors ground. After such a long break I was looking forward to this match and last minute arrangements were made so the game went ahead. The lads started the match ok for the first 10mins with some fine efforts from Leon putting the ball into their box but our forwards were to slow to respond. Wye got into the game and played some good football and scored 7 goals in the 1st half with no determination or response from Bromley Green.
We started the 2nd half a bit better with some good play from Kieran, Leon, James, Alex and Luke, gave us some good chances which we did not take. Wye came back at us after we feel asleep at the back despite the best efforts of Ethan C and Ethan Y stopping Wye romping all over us. The final score ended 0-14. Wye deserved the win as they were more hungry and never stopped chasing the ball.
If we want to progress as a team we need to all turn up for training, work harder, be available for matches and most important listen.

Report by John Collen
Bromley green U13s travelled to unbeaten league leaders Grasshoppers yellow. The lads started well with some good midfield and defensive play trying to hold GHY at bay. 10 mins into the match we were being put under some good pressure and some great saves from Ethan C could not keep GHY out giving them a 4-0 lead at halftime. We then come out for the second half flying and some solid defensive play from Michael, Mason and Ethan Y held GHY off so we could build up the play in the midfield putting them under some really good pressure. With some great attacking play from Shane, Kieran, Leon and James with Rhys and Dan P giving good support from the wings. A great one on one with the GHY keeper won us a penalty after the keeper took Kieran down. Kieran then hit the back of the net giving us our first goal. We then lost control of the possession in the last 10mins of the match and GHY score 6 more goals as we feel asleep in the midfield and at the back. A good effort all round from all the lads but we need to work hard on fitness, match awareness and as Micky said lets see some character out on the pitch.
Thanks to Micky D for the support today.

This week we were away to Afc courtside. The lads started off well with some great defending from From Mason, Michael and EthanY which kept courtside quite for 25Mins of the first half but we did not pressure their back three at all. A great double penalty save by EthanC could not stop Courtside from scoring as we fell asleep at the back for the last 10Mins of the half giving Courtside a 4-0 lead.
The lads went out for the second half with their heads up and put some good pressure on Courtside for the first 25mins with some good chances from Kieran, Alex and Leon and a great free kick from Shane which just missed the target. Courtside then got back into the game scoring another 4 goals in the last 10 mins of the game giving them a 8-0 win.
considering this team beat us 0-20 four months ago, I feel the lads progression is growing and looks positive for the future. Well done lads, lets work harder in training and the wins will come.

U13 Friendly Saturday 23 November 2013
Report by John Collen
South Ashford 2-2 Bromley Green
After our great win last week, we had our league fixture cancelled today due to the bad weather and waterlogged pitches. We managed to arrange a friendly at South Ashford.
The lads started the match with a great positive attitude and eagerness to get involved and get stuck in. We had some great possession and chances in the first half but we could not hit the back of the net. South Ashford managed to score two goals against the run of play to give them the lead going into the second half.
The lads went out in the second half with their heads up high and with a hunger to get the two goals back which they did. A great individual run see Leon lob their keeper giving us our fist goal. Some more great possessional play see Dan E score our second goal with the assist coming from Dylan. The lads hunger to win the game see us pressuring South Ashford right to the final whistle. Well done lads you were so unlucky not to get the win. Lets keep this positive confidence going its great to see!

Well what can I say, our very first win of the season. After losing to Pilgrims 9-1 in the league a few weeks ago. We knew this was going to be a hard fixture. But a good turn out from the lads, see goals from Luke, Kieran & Alex and three great goal assists from Dylan and Leon. A solid performance at the back from Ethan C and the defence, see us seal the victory, even after being put under serious pressure in the last ten minutes of the game. It’s the first time the team has performed to their full abilities and played as a unit. This is what we can achieve when we focus and give it everything we’ve got. Well done lads!

Report by John Collen
After not a very good start to the season, things are finally starting to click into place for the team.
The game started well with all the team playing some very positive football with some good passing and moving of the ball, keeping Kennington at bay for the first part of the match.

19.10.2013 Danny is our McDonalds Player of the Match

19.10.2013 Danny is our McDonalds Player of the Match

Kennington got their first goal from an BG (OG) but the lads kept their heads up and kept battling and we had some good chances from Leon Randall, Kieran Rogers & Danny Endicott but just could not hit the back of the net. As we went into halftime, Kennington had hit the target two more times, giving them a 3-0 lead.
The team was very positive going into the second half, with some great defending from, Sam Whittle, Ethan York & James Russell, with Dylan Trevett staying solid at centre back. Some great determined play, see Alfie Longley smash a 20 yard shot smashing the underside of the Kennington crossbar for our first goal.
Ethan Collen made some great saves but could not keep Kennington out as they hit the net 3 more times against the run of play.
Some determined play from midfield, see Danny Endicott run in on goal and made Kennington’s goalkeeper make a mistake to give Danny his fourth goal of the season.
The final result of 6-2 did not reflect the lads’ positive play and determination. I am very pleased with the team’s attitude today and will give us something to build on and I am sure the wins will come.
Well done lads, let’s keep this up!
