GAME IS OFF ON SUNDAY 18 JANUARY 2015 … ALL PITCHES ARE WATERLOGGED

Sunday 25 January 2015 please meet at the club 11.45am for the away game against Bay Point

16.1.2015 Happy birthday today to Rachel! Have a great day Rach from all at the club.

13.1.2015 Happy birthday today to Cihan Yalcin!

6.1.2015 Happy birthday today to Brandon Woodcock!

16.12.2014 I asked everyone to make the effort to train tonight but just Richard, Joseph and Billy turned up [+ Dison who trains for the U14s anyway]. No wonder Josh is disillusioned! The club pays out a huge amount of money to hire facilities to enable training to take place in the winter months and, as for claims that the North School is ‘too far away’, other youth teams over the years have managed full turn-outs at training. The squad is starting to look good so don’t throw away the opportunity to make it special. I don’t wish to hear a load of pathetic excuses … in football you either ‘want it’ or you don’t. If there are reasons why the majority of you are not attending training, please contact me in confidence by email dhomewood@yahoo.com, text me on 07761101988, or come and talk at the ground this Thursday any time between 5pm and 9pm. I will make sure you get fed and watered. Thanks. Dave Homewood.

Match summary 14.12.2014 home Snowdown & Aylesham
2014.12.14 U15s at home to Snowdown [2]For the best part of an hour, we were the better side against table-toppers Snowdown but finished on the end of a 6-1 defeat. With Layton, Dison and Pawel added to the squad recently there is more strength in depth and we went close through Jetil plus we were on the end of some debatable offside flags. That said, there is a need to be more wordly-wise … play to the whistle! If we had have done early in the second half, then the score would have been 1-0 to the Green. As it turned out, the visitors broke through the middle to take the lead and, essentially, that was that. Lewis did net a consolation goal but there is so much to learn, especially not dropping heads when our opponents take the lead. Well done for much of the match but the last 20 minutes added to the behaviour/mess in the changing rooms afterwards suggests that some of you need to pretty soon start to demonstrate a shade more maturity boys. Having fun is one thing, acting like silly little kids is another and if you wish to be treated like adults then start behaving appropriately.

16 DECEMBER 2014 PLEASE CAN EVERYONE ATTEND TRAINING TUESDAY … Amanda can you bring the ‘ball’ please and I will repair the trophy … thanks Dave Homewood

Tuesday 2 November 2015: Can we have ALL the squad at training tonight please. Josh is away at a funeral so your trainer at the North will be Aaron Negus who came up through the youth ranks at Bromley Green FC and achieved his FA Level 2 Coaching Badge with the club’s support. If for any reason you cannot make tonight, please ring or text Rachel. Thanks DH

BUTLINS 2015

Do you want to go to Butlins in May?

Message from Dave Homewood: the plan is for the squad [plus the manager, club officials, and a few parents] to enter the ESF tournament at Butlins next year. We leave on Friday 1 May and return on Monday 4 May. Cost is £140 per person which includes entry to the tournament, accommodation, pennants etc; but not food! To secure the early booking prices, we need to have commitment to go by the end of next week please [ideally, confirm with me on Thursday 21 August at training or inform Josh]. It is possible that the U13s EKYL will also enter. The only thing to sort will be transport but usually parents, club officials help out and that can be discussed later.

Preview by Josh Ahmad
With only a four team league we play each other regularly rather than just twice like they do in other leagues. After a good earned win last week against West Farliegh . Today we welcome High Halden Hornets to Homelands to play our league fixture. From our previous meetings with High Halden, we have not won a game against them, but with a win last week I hope it will boost the players conferdance for today’s game. The squad today is missing two players who are out due to injury and they are Fikret Yalcin and Richard Revell.  Martyn Dalby and myself have worked hard at training early this week to make sure the boys will step up for today’s game. I hope the boys enjoy playing in Homelands today as it is a great experience playing in a stadium.

Report by Josh Ahmad
After a terrific win last week against Smeeth and Brabourne, which the team were taken by Steve Rollings. On behalf of the boys I would like to say a big thank you to him. Today we travelled to Maidstone where we were welcomed by West Farleigh. Every time we play them we do not know who will win, but the luck was on our side today and we came away with a good earned victory. Well done boys. All of the goals that we scored today were good but one stood out for me and that was Billy’s strike just outside the 18-yard box which lobbed the opposing goalie. The young lad who I thought that deserved man of the match today was Sam Smythson due to his hard work at the back and in the middle. There wasn’t one header or a ball that was not won by Sam. Good effort and  hard work Sam keep it up.

McDonalds Player of the Match: Sam Smythson

Fikret  was taken to hospital after receiving a knock on his ankle, 2 minutes from time. The good news is that nothing was broken, but his ankle is badly bruised and swollen. I hope he has a speed recovery and back playing football soon.

With no game for the past two weeks due to the bad weather, we travelled to High Halden today, where we were welcomed by High Halden Hornets. From previous fixtures we have come away with losses and a draw. After playing today’s fixture we have come away with another loss. In the first half the boys battled well with the opposition, But after conceding our first goal the boys heads dropped. After the half time talk, the boys played better football and created a few more chances but couldn’t score. It was just not our day.

With no game for the past two weeks due to the half term break. We traveled to Maidstone today, where we were welcomed by West Farliegh. From previous fixtures we have came away with a win and a draw. After playing today’s fixture we have came away with a tight loss. With the weather not being the best, we had to cope with it. After not having our usual keeper in goal, I replaced him with Dan H, who played very well  in the position which he doesn’t normally play in and keeping the score down, that’s why I awarded him Man of the Match. our only goal from today Came from Lewis.

After losing last week, the boys turned up today with a clear head to win against our opponents. Last time we met West Farleigh we came away with a draw. All the boys played well and it is good to see them walk off that pitch with a ‘Happy Smile’. Our top goal scorer Liam nets two home for green. The goal that stood out for me was when Fikret got a cheeky flick from the attempted shot from Cihan. With everyone playing well it was hard for me to choose a MOM, but I came to the conclusion of choosing Billy as he worked and battled in the middle of the park.

All U14s Players there is NO GAME on 26th October 2013.

After the team now sorted with players, all the boys have jelled well over the past few games. After practicing certain things at training the boys used this in the match today with a cracking result. All the boys played well today. From today’s result it seems more promising that more will come. The player who stood out for me and scored a blinding free kick from 30 yards out was Lewis O’leary. He is one of the new signings for this season and this was his second game for us. He has jelled well with the boys and I hope he enjoys this.
Our Next game is Home to High Halden Hornets.

Great start to the season, well played boys great performance today keep it up for the rest of the season. The opposition gave us a good game but not being biased we were the stronger team out there today.  We started the game at a bad start when we conceded two early goals, but that changed soon after we were back in it. When we were 2-1 down when Liam hit home a 25 yds free kick, david beckham couldn’t do better. We gave man of the match to wisdom who ran his socks off today and kept control in the middle of midfield.
