From Nick Dunn, Kent FA Referee Development Officer

Sin-Bins are becoming a mandatory part of the game as from the 2019/2020 season (effective from 1 June 2019). This will impact all grassroots leagues.

We have now added more dates to our seminar calendar … please feel free to share with anyone who may wish to attend.

The use of sin-bins for all C2 dissent cautions is non-negotiable, and will come into operation. To assist with the facilitation of this, we are running a series of training events across the County, which I heavily recommend every referee attends. The dates are as follows:

Handshakes as it’s Green v Green on Saturday

Sponsored penalty forms … are they full?

Next Saturday sees our U10s and U11s sponsored penalty shoot-outs at Waterside as we raise money towards the trips to St George’s. Hopefully, you have all filled up your sponsorship forms (this will keep the cost down for parents!) First to pay in a large amount with his form is Arilas – so well done to him. If you have completely filled up your form, please see Dave Homewood in the clubhouse or email davehomewood@icloud.com and I will ping another one over. Remember money and form must be with DH before penalties are taken. McDonalds night out and trophies for winners and those that really try. Thank you.

Green take maximum points at Sandyacres

The title race continues to excite as a 6-3 victory over White Horse at Sandyacres puts us firmly in the driving seat. But there is plenty of hard work to do yet with five crucial fixtures on the horizon.

At half time, with a 4-0 advantage, all looked comfy for Gary Gibbs’ charges but the Horse galloped back before a couple of late goals settled the issue.

On target for the Green were Ryan Carter (2), Connor Gower, Conor Little, Lee Milton and Levii Loyza.

Good luck this morning to the Sunday seniors who meet old rivals White Horse at Sandyacres (10.30am)

BGV Juniors have their last tournament of the season while the BGV adults are training at Waterside this morning

Well done Charlie

Double for Under 11s – report from Timmy

We showed fantastic character today against old rivals Mersham who had a big squad. At half time, we found ourselves 4-2 down but we mixed about and it soon worked with Archie as usual prolific in front of goal.

We soon levelled and took the game over winning 8-6 with a great team performance. The lads showed true character with Archie bagging six goals and obvious contender for player of the match but it went to recent signing Charlie R for his all-round display.

Well done lads, proud of you all.

U11s on the Faversham Red

Report from Rob with the Under 11s at Faversham

Today we made the trip to Faversham to face a strong Faversham side the boys didn’t disappoint playing some excellent football with great passing Kris opened the scoring with a well taken goal from Matteos cross 0-1 the boys were solid at the back and Kavalli pulled off a few saves when called into action they kept pressing for another goal and it soon came when Sam put Thomas through on goal and he fired a fierce shot into the corner of the net 0-2 then just before the break Thomas became provider to set Sam up who calmly slotted home HT 0-3 second half faversham tried to get back into the game but the boys held firm when under pressure and cleared there lines well and playing the offside trap brilliantly. We was soon to get the 4 th goal when Alfie pushed up for a corner the ball fell nicely for him to fire into the net 0-4 Sam and Matteo both went close soon after that with Sam firing into the side netting and Matteo just shooting wide but again they pressed and the 5th goal came when Matteo got on the end of Sam’s pass with a cheeky lob over the keeper and into the net 0-5 which was the final score well done all that took part today you all worked your socks off and a big well done goes to Daniel for getting PoTM for a solid performance at right back. Cheers Rob.

Well done Daniel!
